Kill some of the parking and convert it in to plaza space with chairs, tables, etc. Maybe even add a small jungle gym area for kids. Definitely makes sense for them to relocate. I remember going to the Highland Village location of PF Changs back in the late 90s when it was a hip and trendy restaurant. I vividly remember waiting in line for 2+ hours on a Friday night to to eat there back in 1998ish. No one wants to pay the $5 to $10 million per mile it costs to bury them. I agree. This isn’t just a Houston thing. In general, nationally, we’ve just not updated this method of power transmission from source to end user. There are rumors of the city working with Union Pacific to coordinate a signal, but it is going to be costly and complicated.
