Texasota
Uh, as much as I like this development I really hate the idea of the old Felix building being torn down.

BEES?!
I’ve only been to Uchi a couple of times but isn’t the building it’s in a historic landmark? (It has a marker of some sort-maybe it’s just a historical marker?) How would that work?
Texasota
I think it's just a marker - the building itself has no sort of protected status (and in fact was basically rebuilt when it became Uchi) 3

wilcal
Thought I would post here first in case I'm missing something, but Uchi/Hue Salon/Rosemont re-platted to Unrestricted by a "Montrose Collective Southwest" by Radom. Did I miss something? They bought it 2 years ago, but I thought Uchi was staying.

After reading this post several times, I must confess that it still mystifies me. What "major improvements" might be made here, and to what? What's meant by "where the other businesses were previously"? What does any of this have to do with "A facelift of sorts"? Why would the individual lots need to be consolidated if there's no future plans to do something else with the properties? After all, they've been each sitting on their own little happy lots for decades. If someone can explain this to me, I thank you in advance.

They make them look more appealing, better sidewalks, add outdoor seating options, add better landscaping, facelift (as you mentioned)... Popular Post hindesky
Buck Mason, a Los Angeles-based apparel brand selling hand crafted T-shirts, denim jeans and button-up shirts, will make its Houston debut in Montrose Collective this spring. Montrose Collective is a development of Houston-based Radom Capital combining old and new buildings along Westheimer with spaces for 25 merchants, chefs and wellness tenants, multiple office tenants and the future Montrose Library. Founded in 2013 by Erik Allen Ford and Sasha Koehn, Buck Mason will occupy a 1,300-square-foot space within a 1940-building at 906 Westheimer. The space is now occupied by Hue salon, which will move to a larger space within the project at 888 Westheimer this year.

dbigtex56
I wonder if there's going to be a grand opening for this building. Has anyone heard whether or when this is going to happen? Looks like the businesses are very close to occupying their new spaces.

zaphod
I really love the materials they used on this place. I think decades from now people will consider this to be a rather distinct and special building, while junkier less interesting structures being built around now will be nearing end of life.
