Houston Chronicle has more details about Chelsea Oyster Bar than the article from Water Houston. Chelsea Oyster Bar will be located at 888 Westheimer (I don't know the suite number) in Montrose Collective.

Blurb from Houston Chronicle:

An oyster bar called Chelsea is also in the works by a Dallas-based group that has tapped a yet-to-be-disclosed Houston chef. The concept will have a large patio space shaded by live oak trees, and serve oysters, seafood and drink classics like martinis.

The latest update on the estimated opening of Picnik at Montrose Collective.

Picnik is a health-conscious restaurant from Austin. It's coming soon to 888 Westheimer Rd, Suite 126.

From a press release yesterday:

"Another location—and the first outside of Austin—is expected in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood in the first quarter of 2023..."

I think a local hospitality group is also involved with The Chelsea.

The Chelsea is an upscale seafood restaurant and oyster bar opening later this year. It's one of the dining options in Montrose Collective. The address is 888 Westheimer Rd, Ste 119.

Syn Group is the mind behind the Chelsea. The Dallas-based hospitality team operates several restaurants and bars is the Dallas and Fort Worth areas: America Gardens, Don Chingon, Wishful Drinking, and others.

However, I think Syn Group is enlisting the hospitality team behind Houston's Lincoln Bar, Pour Behavior, and several more food and beverage concepts. One of the owners of Lincoln Bar listed the Chelsea in their Instagram bio. It's included alongside their other concepts.

Graffiti Raw
The Big Vibe Group (Flora, Coppa, and Gratify) will open this new restaurant in the Montrose Collective later this month. Described in a release as a "coastal cool raw bar,” the menu will feature grilled meat and seafood alongside ceviche, crudos, tartares, and pastas. An extensive cocktail list will pair with the diverse menu.

Anyone know when the library is set to open in the development?

They had to ask for more money from the city so they can finish the project, I believe the city okayed the extra funds.

Graffiti Raw opened last month in the Montrose Collective development. It's located at 1001 California St, Suite 101.

From Houston Chronicle last month:

"The Big Vibe Group, the Houston hospitality group responsible for Coppa Osteria, Gratify, and Flora restaurants, has announced the opening of Graffiti Raw, described as an all-day kitchen and bar “inspired by the diverse Californian food scene.”

The Big Vibe project from founders Grant Cooper and Josep Prats, has been designed to evoke beach vibes inspired by Mexico, the Big Sur region, and the Mediterranean. The space at 1001 California is invested with “raw” artwork, white oak, woven light fixtures and chairs, and design details from Round Top and vendors that Grant and Jacy Cooper have worked with for more than a decade."

The name of the intimate omakase restaurant from Uchi is Oheya.

There is a timeline of new Uchi restaurants opening on Uchi's website. On the list is Oheya. Below is what appears on the site:

Early 2023

Uchi Houston: Opening Oheya, a specially curated omakase room experience.

There is also a recently launched Instagram for the omakase restaurant.

Oheya replaces coffee shop Southside Espresso. It will be located at 904 Westheimer Rd, Suite A. It's one of the upcoming dining additions opening soon at Montrose Collective.

Houston Chronicle reported a few details about the TBA bottle shop coming to Montrose Collective, 888 Westheimer:

"Radom teased a new wine bar and bottle shop, run by the former manager of "a very well-known Montrose restaurant" who has worked in Houston for a long time. It will serve a concise food menu of sandwiches and salads."

I think the bottle shop and cafe coming to Montrose Collective at 888 Westheimer Rd is probably Flora's. The name may also be Flora"s Bottle Shop.

Flora's was planned for another location nearby in Montrose last year. However, going off Houston Chronicle's reporting, it seems the wine bar & cafe could be Flora's.

Last spring, Flora's created an Instagram for its business.

Looks like Flora's (Flora's Bottle Shop) is indeed opening its wine shop and sandwich cafe at Montrose Collective, 888 Westheimer.

Over the weekend, Flora's updated their Instagram bio with the inclusion of Montrose Collective. The shop also posted an update to its page yesterday, as well as an Instagram story announcing their forthcoming retail shop and wine bar at Montrose Collective.

"The Austin-based James Beard Award-winning restaurant group behind Uchi, Uchiko, and Loro Smokehouse, is debuting Oheya by Uchi, an exclusive 12-seat, reservation-only sushi restaurant, on Monday, March 20 in Montrose.

Taking over the space that previously housed coffee bar Southside Espresso, neighboring Uchi at 904 Westheimer, Oheya will offer two experiences per night, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., priced at $175 per person, with sushi-bar seating only. The name, which translates to “the room” in Japanese, reflects the intimate omakase room experience, and plays off of Uchi’s moniker, which means “home”."

Never heard of them, but wow, their store locations listing is quite impressive.

London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, Newport Beach, Palo Alto. And now Houston.

Happy to see Dallas wasn’t on the list ..
