Places generally along the South Freeway (I-45), and south of the Ship Channel, including Clear Lake, Deer Park, Freindswood, the Hobby Area, League City, Pasadena, Santa Fe, South Houston, and Texas City.
As a bicyclist, the Yale and Center intersection improvements are huge for me. I have almost been killed at this intersection twice by people confusing the green light at Washington as their green light for Center St while driving along Yale. So yes, please please improve. It's incredibly dangerous and I see people running super late reds all the time.
That’s fair. I just think I get a bit frustrated until I see some dirt turn and changes made. I’m just eager to see Houston become what we all know it has the ability to become. But I agree, this will help shape and change Montrose. My bad for the negativity fellow HAIFers.
The retail area beneath the parking garages at Post Oak Central has large vacancies and could be revitalized. It would be great to get some restaurants in there and would be a decent location for the educational supplies store, Whole Earth Products and the Container Store. There should be sufficient parking available.
The store is on my family’s property. It’s be defunct for many many years. My grandfather did use it to sell fireworks out of for several years.
The family has attempted to have it saved as a historical building, but a fire in the 70s that required replacing a significant amount of the building made it so it no longer qualifies. The property is now on the commercial real estate market and we are not sure what the fate of the store will be.
Kind of off topic, but the project about Memorial Heights reminded me. Does anyone know why they took down the traffic signal in front of the Kroger. I feel like they just put it up and then it was taken down? It was the light closest to the store front, not the one near the McDonalds.
