Alec
The midtown superblock is fenced off, freshly staked, and cleared of the existing building with the midtown mural. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it.

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it.Yeah I noticed the same thing last nite me and my gf caught the train to downtown. This is great news because that building on the property was horrible and it seems like the Superblock Park is finally going to take off

Moore713
Hmm does not seem to be fronting main st. .that would be kinda of stupid if your trying to sell the urban vibe thing..I understand as it stands now they would be facing a run down shop ..but you have to think what will the area look like later
Howard Huge
You gotta be kidding me.Ok, I thought the whole reason Campo refused to build the apartments on the south side was so the entrance to the apartments would front the light rail platform.Well, that pic up there looks like the damn front door and leasing office is fronting the freaking park. Wtf.
Howard Huge
Is this gonna be a main st address or a travis address?
BigFootsSocks
Do we know for certain there won't be retail or entrance on that side? There hasn't been any concrete (lol) details

Howard Huge
I don't understand why this is surprising then? what's changed?Well that's an older rendering, we haven't really seen any concrete renderings yet.I'm sure they'll press release the final renderings in a couple years, when construction is abbout to start.Unless this is it. phillip_white
I'm surprised that no one has updated this yet... there is green fence screen all the way around and several excavators digging a BIG hole on the Camden end of the block.
cloud713
on the camden end? i thought the underground park garage was getting built first?
phillip_white
Yeah, that's what I thought too. But the hole is right across from the McGowen south-bound METRO rail stop. We can only hope that Camden realized how douche-y they were being and decided to switch back to the south side of the block.
toxtethogrady
So a water feature in front of the stage? Fort Worth has a spot on Panther Island that has a water feature between the audience and the stage. It's called the Trinity River.

Howard Huge
Look at the above rendering again, on Travis st there are two "Public Garage Entrances."One on each side of the apartment building.

It's called the Trinity River. I guess with the stage over by the bayou off Allen Pkwy we're probably full up with that type of venue for now, but doing something similar with the Alcatraz plan around the jail/post office would have been pretty cool to see. phillip_white
Good call. That would also explain the size of the hole. Chi-Char-Hou-Dal
We walked past yesterday - man that area just across the tracks is primed for redevelopment. I never noticed this building hidden on main - it's gonna be great location nebefore see pic : you have empty blocks - had lunch at Weights and Measures which was solid BTW
j_cuevas713
I noticed a lot of areas off San Jac need to be redeveloped... I work 2 blocks from that spot
