nativehoustonion
Martha Turner sold a hug block off San Felipe, Spann, and Welch for a 46 story high rise. It is very quite right now because of the Hines building. Residents did not like the Hines building. They will scream if they built this one. Urbanizzer can find out leaving town tomorrow.

nativehoustonion
Yes and very quiet. Because River Oaks hates the 16 floor high rise. Just wait I have a good broker that told me. I did spill the beans because they said shut up.
nativehoustonion
Cannot wait to see the DART from AA terminal A. I have to take the shuttle from UNITED to the terminal A but looking forward to it to see what Houston can do.
H-Town Man
This is believable because of the number - 46. If you'd said 50 story, I wouldn't have believed you. But just below 50 is becoming a trend for Houston.
toxtethogrady
So Upper Kirby for this? What with the Hanover and the existing buildings, that's going to be an interesting cluster of high-rises. And anything residential will do well. nativehoustonion
I'm in Dallas now but the land is sold. This project is very quiet because of the Hines building down the street. When I get back I will walk over there and talk the neighbors.
houstontexasjack
Do you have the address for this sale? If closing has occurred, a recorded Warranty Deed should appear in the real property records soon. The houses across the street from 2229 San Felipe do not appear as though they would support a 46-story highrise. One of the existing old garden-style apartments just might. I should add that, given the permitting process for such a structure, it's nature will be disclosed soon enough. In the meantime, color me skeptical (although the strength of our housing and construction market can give pretty much anything a sheen of truth). Dakota79
I would guess it is those 50's style one story office buildings. But I too am skeptical.
LTAWACS
Is this some hoax? Ppl in that part of town usually have connections that would tell them about something like this.
Luminare
Is this some hoax? Ppl in that part of town usually have connections that would tell them about something like this. I don't know. Do people normally try to rat out developers online? Just have to sit back and see what happens.

db650
Sorry--I am not familiar with the source. In any case, is there a way to check the property records? It does seem like this area generally is ripe for development with the new Hines office tower, Chateau 10, and the Winfield Gate development. Any other possibilities for development in this area or has everything stopped because of the price of oil?
toxtethogrady
WTI is $57 a barrel and Brent just topped $65. It could be far worse. People are still buying homes; it's only the lenders who have gotten cold feet.

Urbannizer
What's funny is that they have a star over the location of this project, and it's the biggest one!

towerjunkie
Honestly this skyscraper construction is the fault of River Oaks, I mean how are you going to have a street named Mimosa and not expect people to want to slap a building on there. "I just had mimosas on mimosa"

db650
I've walked by this site several times wondering when someone would scoop it up. It hasn't had noticeable tenants for months or longer.
Naviguessor
This would be 248ft taller than The Huntington on Kirby at 502ft. That's quite significant. Hate the name though.
