Central Square At 2100 Travis St.

In clarification to someones earlier statement about getting the weather ball back on this building I don't believe that this was the

site of the weather ball that glowed different colors for different weather conditions. It was on top of the old Conoco building that was close to the southern central downtown and if I remember correctly it was a fairly modern style green building maybe 25 stories

tall. This was back in the early sixties and I'm not sure when it was torn down but I think it might have been

imploded. It was located in the area of where Allen Center was developed.

I don't think it was torn down.  Pretty sure it is still standing.  1300 Main Street (not part of Allen Center).

50,000 sq ft of office expected to be assigned to a tenant soon, along with 8,000 sq ft of retail (out of 28,000 sq ft)

Way to bury the lede!  ;-)

From the linked article:

"Right behind the quartet is another blighted building that’s about to be redone—801 Calhoun is being redone as a Sheraton."

May not really add anything and may be old news, but I was leafing through the midtown redevelopment budget and saw "Central Bank Plaza" development at $100k each year for the next 4 years.  I wonder what this actually is.  Probably just landscaping.  Page 43 in the link:

Could be a tax abatement that MRA used to get them to start on the project.

Transwestern is definitely not leaving its current headquarters.  It is simply leasing this building.

At Central Square alone, which he leases, he’s talking to several co-working companies that could take down 50k to 60k SF combined of office space. Central Square will be a creative/techie building overall; David’s also close to signing a couple of prominent architecture and engineering firms and has strong interest from a new business accelerator focusing on IT, medical and energy startups.
