Popular Post hindesky
Come around the corner and see all these trucks and a AT crane with it's boom laid down on the street. I'm thinking this seems kind of late to get started to take down the last sections of the tower crane. Turns out TNT had major mechanical problems with their crane they were going to use to remove the remaining portions of the tower crane. They couldn't get the wings to move into position and without them it would be impossible to get the tower crane down. Their mechanic attempted to repair it all day Saturday but couldn't get it to work. They were taking apart the crane when I happened by. Policeman providing traffic control said the TNT boss was not in a good mood. TNT will have to eat this this job and try to reschedule a street closure to finish the job. Hopefully Hines, Harvey and TNT have enough clout to get a street closure permit from the city soon but with Thanksgiving parades coming soon I don't see it happening till early December unless they can get a permit for next weekend.

Here's a subtle view... Couldn't get the best pic while being a distance away, but I came across this view last week on N Memorial Way near the retirement community. I enjoy how the building and its neighbors interact from this angle. Capitol Tower will be a nice addition to this cluster. My favorite views are from the North Side. At the Fulton rail station, 609 Main is a jaw dropper.
Seamus
I'm with you on that one. It is amazing just how the building looks so different from the various angles. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the neighboring buildings, too.

CREguy13
I know I've harped on this in the past, but the impact this building will have on the surrounding area will be transformational. I think we will start to see some high-end hotels in this area of the CBD. Pennzoil, Capitol Tower, Bank of America, Chase Tower, BG Group Place, and 609 Main are the best assets downtown. The next 5-10 years will be very exciting.

phillip_white
Obviously the next logical step with the 360 cam would be to add it to my drone. You can see a lot more than just 609 Main in the video, but I had to pick just one thread... click and drag (or move your phone) to look around in the video.
