  1. If we got a tower that becomes the anchor of this 'retail district' I will be very happy. It has to be some awesome architecture though.
  2. I work in the animation field, and one thing Houston needs is a production studio. As the 4th largest city, we deserve one. For goodness sakes, even dallas has a studio and we don't! The Dome would be perfect!
  3. I noticed a lot of areas off San Jac need to be redeveloped... I work 2 blocks from that spot
  4. Now we can begin to see the second wave of businesses which should become more permanent establishments. This goes out to all the people who said downtown would die out.
  5. Yeah I noticed the same thing last nite me and my gf caught the train to downtown. This is great news because that building on the property was horrible and it seems like the Superblock Park is finally going to take off
  6. I didn't mean to throw everything off topic. Anyone know the status of the International Tower?
  7. Idk why but I kept getting this tower and the new Hines tower mixed up. Yes it would be a very nice addition. What's up with this by the way? Anyone have a link?
  8. Why does it have to be cheesy? It doesn't have to be a space needle, I'm just saying something that will anchor our skyline a bit more.
  9. I feel like the lot in front of Frank's Pizza would be a prime spot for our version of a space needle or some sort of monumental building
  10. Why don't they switch these trains out for something a bit more less imposing? Like the light rail cars in Boston?
  11. The ripple effect the school is going to have downtown is going to be amazing, especially for the families that begin to move downtown. And think about the opportunities a lot of these kids are going to have being so adjacent to the Theater District.
  12. Very well put. Houston is hitting a development phase that older cities hit almost 150 years before. The great thing is that because of the most recent wave of new development, I really see the core of how Houston continues to build, to completely change. It's a very exciting time as we begin to see the influence many of these denser more urban developments have on their neighborhoods. A perfect example is Rice Village, which is overhauling its entire design.
  13. I found it very interesting that the poll went to almost completely 100% NO when cost was mentioned, but as soon as renderings and plans were shown, everything shifted to an overwhelming YES
