  1. I didn't think these buildings were that bad, my buddy works across the street. I actually think they are alright. Why don't they just build on the parking lot adjacent to the buildings? Kinda gonna be an eyesore until something is built.
  2. That shot of downtown is mighty impressive and we still have a lot being built! I was at a Stros game a few years back, and a rangers fan was envious of where our stadium was built and the view we had of our city. Let me just say I was mighty proud lol
  3. I agree, its really a cultural thing. We've been so spoiled to having A/C that we fail to really enjoy the weather. I mean even on really nice days, people have their windows rolled up, and I'm like "WTH!?" Even with all that, we are only crazy hot for like 3 months out of the year. The rest of the year is actually really nice for us. I don't mind the heat, I'm use to the humidity. It's when I go further north like dallas, that the heat stings more and I'm not use to that at all.
  4. Ok this project, Hines Market Square and the Marquette are now my top 3... I mean the overall need for residential/hotels along with architecture that will contrast our skyline is going to look amazing
  5. This and the Market Square project are my favorites right now
  6. I have a buddy who lives in those nice remodeled apartments behind the Clayton Homes... I mean the area isn't that bad really... I mean it definitely needs improving as far as more developments, but it not like walking in SW, where I'm from
  7. Hmm... I've always wondered by smaller more frequent buses don't run in each of our districts, just to get people around the neighborhood quickly... like a taxi service I guess
  8. Wow the entire district is going to be a nice big walkable area... Not to mention it damn near connects seamlessly to Montrose and all the way through Midtown. I'd like to see connectivity between Rice Village and Upper Kirby somehow... Like some sort of pedestrian bridge or something
  9. Absolutely, I agree that in the short term, all these projects are laying a foundation for future growth... I guess myself like many of us, just want to see so many great things for this city because it truly deserves it... I have friends who have moved down here from up north, and they love it... we really do live in a great city
  10. I love all these developments, I think my concern is how many are actually a for sure thing... This fits in great around the ballpark, but hearing that Camden already put a hold on their development has me worried
  11. Does anyone have an idea of how many of these residential units are going up now? I know of Alliance, Finger, Alexan, and...?
  12. Not even close... I mean if a bunch of mid rise residential, a few bars, and a Buffalo Wild Wings is considered game changing than our expectation is extremely low... What I mean by game changers are developments that could spur taller developments. I think MATCH solidifies Midtown as a registered arts district instead of just having a title and nothing to really show for it yet. Secondly a central gathering place is vital to building a quality neighborhood. That's where the superblock park comes in to play. Both of these developments tied in with whats already growing around them will enhance Midtown exponentially.
  13. Yes lol ALL OF THEM! No but in all seriousness, these two projects for this area will basically lay the foundation for the neighborhood... Kinda like the Market Square tower and the Finger residential near MMP, both of those will help stabilize downtown for future growth IMO
  14. Game changer... The next game changer is the Super Block Park
  15. What the heck? I have a few friends who go there
  16. Wow nice density in this part of Midtown... I like how a lot of these developments are centered around the central rail station
