  1. Thank God it wasnt Fingers development! Yeah it sounds like the developer set themselves up to get torched
  2. I mean there are small pockets, but Id say 80% of Montrose is walkable
  3. Nooooooooo!!!! Smh Im glad no one was hurt but what a total loss for the area... What other structures were hurt around it?
  4. Wow, the Clear Lake area has always been nice. Can't wait to see this happen.
  5. Now we can all agree why Houston is Americas coolest city... beautiful stuff lol
  6. Ya know, even with some of the strip centers in Uptown.... at least most of them aren't garbage... this is gonna be one busy part of the city... I see lots and lots of foot traffic
  7. This is going to be perfect for downtown! We just need to continue to connect Midtown with Downtown
  8. Damn its about time! I thought this place would never take off!
  9. The rendering is good. It's clean and simple. We don't need Holiday Inn going crazy with their color scheme.
  10. If their projected start date is the first quarter of 2015, then I'm sure there will be another render change.
  11. Sears relevance is based upon appliance and gardening tools, don't see where they would lack relevance in the 21st century. Maybe nobody needs a lawnmower in Midtown but a washer and dryer yes. I think if the sears were remodeled it would spark development around it. Overall after my weekly drive through various parts of the city, I am pleased with how nice Houston is becoming.
  12. I'll just say this. I know we all want things to be as pedestrian friendly as possible, but even in NYC drivers don't obey cross walks and speed limits. So as pedestrian friendly as NYC is, people complain about cars almost running them over. Trust me I've got plenty of friends from NYC who all tell me the same things. And they don't get why we are so worked up about some of our crossings not being as pedestrian friendly as others. And I agree, mainly because this is the city, and a lot of times its about being a bit of an jerk and demanding your right of way.
  13. While I do agree that every building in Uptown has its own plaza, to compare it to a giant office park is generalizing the entire district. If you want to generalize an area then go ahead and label the Westchase District. Now that's a giant office park! Uptown is very pedestrian friendly in my opinion, for what Houston offers, and the plazas for the buildings in Uptown are more open to the public to move around and for recreation.
  14. Not to be a downer, but when I see shovels in the ground for this and the Marriott, then Ill be happy, until then Im just hoping for the best.
  15. FInally getting the city we always dreamed of, great planning by the city!
  16. This is going to be amazing... Houston is really taking the necessary steps to becoming an even greater world class city... And as for Texas in general, we are really separating ourselves among other cities such as San Antonio and Dallas
  17. WOW! So this is the beginning of construction I assume after the demo?
  18. Hold on, so we have an idea of whats going here?
  19. I agree KinkaidAlum such a beautiful building to add to our modern skyline... this building is very classy
