  1. Yeah I totally get that, which is fine. It just seems unnecessary for this building.
  2. Exactly! I'm not against landscaping, but this is going to look awful when it isn't cut for a week or 2.
  3. A mix of good and bad news. I don't want another lot in downtown. Especially since Skanska isn't moving on their tower just yet.
  4. Ok not trying to nit pick but why the heck do we need that strip of grass and those trees as landscaping? Like wouldn't it be cleaner and better maintenance to just have the sidewalk hit the street for better pedestrian access? Just seems like more to maintain with all that grass
  5. You mean to tell me thats the original building under the Chronicle facade? Holy crap thats beautiful!
  6. Ahh thank you man. This is awesome news! We can't underestimate how great this is for downtown, especially as a nice casual spot downtown to watch the game.
  7. Wth is that rock in the bottom left corner? haha Man did we really think this was ok back in the day to landscape with massive rocks in the middle of the city?
  8. Downtown is starting to fill in finally! Looking awesome!
  9. Nice more douche bags! Jk kinda BUT on a serious note, imagine if all of the lots in downtown had some sort of tower on it. Downtown would that much more amazing!
  10. What's the status on Christian's Tailgate?
  11. While I like many of the designs of a lot of these new mid-rises, I wish more were clean and simple like this.
  12. I noticed the turning lane at Smith and Capitol. And I noticed people turning in front of the train a few streets before that as well, as if they are either afraid to turn on the tracks or they are confused how the turning lane works. And thanks for letting me know they are running the trains thru rush hr, I've just never seen them go past Main during that time. Not saying they don't run at all.
  13. All thats left is for another developer to tear down the old Macys garage and add another tower
  14. I'm curious as to why there is a turning lane next to both of these lines downtown. Like isn't that asking for an accident to happen? I totally get having the turning lane on the tracks which is cool but not next to the tracks. Am I missing something here? And I also noticed that during rush hour the purple and green line don't run trains all the way through. I wonder if there is fear of a collision.
  15. Nice I work right next to Damian's on the same block. It amazes me how Houston is starting to have its own "look" if that makes any sense. Like you know when something is shot in LA or NYC or even Chicago, etc and you know what city it is. We are getting our own style and it's freaking awesome!
  16. Hahaha sorry guys... I gotta say that I was very impressed... my gf and I parked at the Macy's garage and did some walking up and down Post Oak... we checked out the new Whole Foods and ate... then we caught the 33 back to West. and Post Oak and then caught the 82 to Montrose... did some antique shopping... then caught the 82 to Midtown at Smith and Elgin... from there we caught the train downtown and watched the Stros till about 8ish... caught the train back to midtown, just because... and the 82 back to the garage... I gotta say that overall the buses were very frequent and great on travel time. The longest we waited was about 7 mintues. I'm def considering taking the bus more often. Still not familiar with other routes but I will try others soon and get a feel for things.
  17. I mean that could be said for any major city.
  18. I say this with all respect, but who cares if travel time increases? This city has bottle fed motorists for so long that we worry about travels times on Allen Parkway. People speed up and down that road and completely ignore pedestrians. If travel time is an issue, I have an answer, wake up earlier. Cities are built on people, not cars, and it's about time this road was dedicated to the safety of people trying to cross it.
  19. A lot of it is people going back to school. That's what Metro had hoped for, which is a good thing.
  20. My apologies, I had my exposure set high on my phone.
