  1. Slim Thug use to have a chrome Ferrari. I use to see him on 59 all the time. That thing has to be tough to keep clean.
  2. Idk I feel then entire vibe of Rice Village is fine. I mean the center is a bit suburban, but I feel the improvements will do enough for the area. I think The Village is a good combo of development that makes Houston what it is.
  3. You know, while I think it is a very cool idea, Montrose1100 is right... there is such a dense grid of streets between downtown and midtown, that it woulf be a shame to maintain this physical barrier
  4. Oh no we are way better than dallas so that's not the reason. I was just saying that a new branding by renaming the street would be great to promote the shopping district.
  5. Are some of you people nuts!? This idea would be incredible. Screw NYC! For this city it would be so amazing to re purpose something like this. It would be a 2 for 1 deal, you eliminate the barrier between downtown and midtown and ou get green space. Seems like an easy win win IMO.
  6. There's not much to elaborate about. The name of the street follows the name of what's being built around it. I mean if there are other ideas, I'm all for it. IMO I feel like a name change would work for this shopping area. It's something the city can promote to out of towners and help establish a focal point in the city to shop and visit. I guess I can agree that Green St. does sound a bit forced. Any other ideas?
  7. The fact of the matter is that the housing is here. Yes SkyHouse isn't full but as demand increases and more developments progress downtown, these places will fill up.
  8. All that's left is for some developer to tear down that ugly Magic Island and build and awesome skycraper!
  9. A lot of those lots are filling up, this pic is kinda outdated
  10. I have no idea what any of that has to do with renaming the street, BUT what I was trying to get across was maybe a clever name for the street since this is where our retail district will be. Green Street sounds good to me.
  11. The convention center is going to look so much nicer when this is complete
  12. GREAT ARTICLE!!! GO HOUSTON!!! And as for the golf simulator! Please let this be true!
  13. The city had already planned to rename the street a couple years back. I'll give you a reason though, because it's called 'dallas' st.
  14. The only problem I have with this development is its surroundings. I hope they widen sidewalks and revamp this area much like they've done on Westheimer and Kirby.
  15. Haha... I just realized that as ugly as this building is, it's actually not as bad as thought
