  1. Man the Bank of the Southwest tower would have been incredible!!! WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!????????????????
  2. Anyone heard or seen anything else regarding Christian's Tailgate?
  3. Omg that is exactly what we need! Man that would be so awesome! It would create a great retail area as well!
  4. Thank God for Buffalo Bayou... the thing held so much water!
  5. I think just closing that section of Main would be awesome. You could build an actual building that would be act as a large indoor platform with restrooms, ticket machines, etc. I think it would mean closing the side streets where the rail turns as well. Idk just my opinion.
  6. Yeah me and my girlfriend were at Central Station yesterday, and we got a bit confused. So you basically have to get on an Green Line station to head east or Purple Line to head south east but you can't do that coming off of Central Station? Someone help me understand because I thought Central Station was to transfer to any line.
  7. You know I thought the same thing Cloud713... do you think closing that block of street would make sense? Like make that one giant station where people just enter and exit the sation
  8. Wow I didn't realize just how nice this building will be. It's going to add some nice street presence.
  9. Well its a long term project they are developing little by little in sections... so yeah I don't expect this to look like the oroginal renderings over the long haul but similar in a way, like the central courtyard, etc.
  10. I'm just glad this whole BRT plan is happening. Regardless of the opposition, the city approved Uptown's budget to include this project. Once this thing is finished, I wonder how many idiots are going to complain once they see how efficient it runs.
  11. The antique shops were open today. We went to eat a Taco's A Go Go for lunch and I saw a couple people walk out.
  12. Why don't we have permanent artwork like this hanging all over Midtown? This is a great piece!
  13. It reminds me of someone who didn't give a damn
  14. Damn that plaza is ugly smh... great pic though
  15. In Houston, if you build it, the people will come. I think just about anything will work in this city because it shows clear as day that the people would love a more urban experience in this city. I work in Midtown, and there are so many people walking to school, work ,etc. I love it.
  16. I think what I didn't like was it just seemed forced. Outside of that area the city tapers off drastically. And while a lot is still planned for the area, it felt more like a city center than a natural urban environment.
  17. I was just in dallas recently and I found nothing that stood out better than what we have here. They put suburban next to urban all over their 'uptown'. And the one thing I didn't like was how disorganized it felt. They had some corners that seemed to turn in to these grand areas only for them to fade out on the next block. I think the lack of a street grid didn't help either. Me and my gf wandered all over their downtown and I was not impressed at all. For all their 'planning' things seemed so out of place and so overdone.
  18. Though the idea was a bit ambitious... let's take a step back and realize that this plot of land could become some very nice residential with ground floor retail. I felt like the Nau Center was nice, and a great idea, but in the back of my mind I wanted the land to be used for so much more. Maybe another Catalyst type development? I mean the Alexan development will start construction in June, and along with the Finger property and the Catalyst, it will create a great environment outside the ballpark. You figure another mid-rise on the Nau Center land, and we could have some real connectivity between the JuiceBox and Market Square and some nice density outside the ballpark.
