I'm throwing them in because fkp5 said they liked that angle of BG Group Downtown Houston by brijonmang, on Flickr BG Group Place by brijonmang, on Flickr

Popular Post PD_1
View from Hess Tower. It looks like they have poured the pool. I managed to catch a shot of the train coming down Capital also.

UtterlyUrban
This building is flying upwards. Can someone remind me how tall this will be?I am very excited about this one. My company currently has "deals" with about 8 of the downtown hotels for room rates. This hotel's price point should beat them all and save us lots of money. Best still, it is also very convenient to our office.

But, it is only one hotel, right? The other one bailed as I recall.
Houston19514
Woof. This fall?No wonder they are moving so fast. But, it is only one hotel, right? The other one bailed as I recall.Nope. It's two hotels. It was the third hotel that bailed -- Hyatt Place IIRC
ANTHONYHTOWN
that's correct the third hotel is the one that bailed out
Sunstar
It's interesting that they never dug a foundation for this development, which explains why it's going up so quickly. Compare that to block 334 where they dug out a huge foundation for a 5 story building.
HoustonIsHome
334 needed the space for parking

Montrose1100
I'm confused...So the blank wall on Wedge isn't going to have a shorter hotel anymore? That is a cool building, it would be nice if something nicer could complement it, think it was going to be twins or something originally. As Nav pointed out, there is a Hilton Garden Inn going on this site (adjacent to the Wedge Plaza). Different project, different side of town, than what the topic is about. It was originally proposed in the early 2000's. Before that, it was a glass box similar to Total Plaza, and originally, I think there was supposed to be something similar but not a twin.

Popular Post PD_1
Making lots of progress here. You can really see the shape of the two hotel structures from this angle. Based on past weeks, they will be pouring the 'brown'/south part of the floor around Wednesday. By early next week, they will have the next floor on the north part ready to pour. It is taking just a little more than two weeks for each floor right now.
