Urbannizer
http://www.uh.edu/facilities-planning-construction/fpc-projects/spotlight/folder-with-index/ UH Downtown would like to build a new Wellness and Success Center. Due to campus growth, a larger recreation facility is required to accommodate the student body. In addition to the exercise component, the new building will also offer other amenities, such as healthy eating options, counseling space and classrooms for health and fitness learning.

UH Downtown has the missiles armed and ready for battle haha. In a previous firm I worked for, the nickname for the exhausts you see on top (a trend in newer schools) would be refereed too as missile silos.

Popular Post southerncrj
One more update. They have also built a nice little trail to connect the back of the building/parking lot/N. Main St. with the White Oak Bayou trail. 9

I love the recycled concrete chunks used as a barrier wall. Go Gators.

Urbannizer
https://news.uhd.edu/president-shares-uhds-highlights-goals-for-the-future/ With legislators taking notice of UHD’s growth and listening to suggestions for future needs from faculty, students and alumni, state lawmakers approved authorization to implement a fee that will support a new Wellness and Success Center. This is the first time in three decades that UHD was granted this authority. Muñoz said the $35-40 million facility will provide spaces for sports, fitness, counseling, studying and socializing.

Popular Post Paco Jones
UHD Student Wellness and Success Center: The current design consists of about 75,000 gross square feet and contains a variety of student activity and support space types. These spaces include fitness areas with state-of-the-art equipment, a three-court gymnasium and three multi-purpose studios. The design also contains an outdoor leisure pool that will accommodate a variety of aquatic activities. This is Schematic Design for budget purposes. 15
Triton
It's probably considerably more expensive but I am surprised they didn't try to put the pool on a higher floor. Does anyone have a picture of this area during Harvey? Maybe they think it's cheaper just to clean out the dirt. Makes sense. Either way, this is a beautiful addition to our area. Edit: Hmmm...
Naviguessor
They raised the grade of the building they just built. Don’t you think that they would do the same for this building? I mean, it’s not like they forgotten about Harvey.
