  1. Hey, I've lived in Houston forever, and I may visit it too. Also, when I have out of town guests or clients we could have lunch on DG, then walk over there and give them ideas of what to visit. Nau is extremely bright, talented and has the $$$ to make it work. They may have to tweak it as they see how it's used, but I will absolutely check it out. I know Houston very well, but the center may get me out of my urban comfort zone and give me day trip ideas for my kiddos.
  2. I agree. Has to be downtown's third tallest. But even that surprises me. I will have to look at the heights of the others. There must be a big drop from Wells Fargo to this, I guess.
  3. Be careful what you wish for. A surprise from RD is likely, but not usually in a good way.
  4. I can hardly get over all the new residential highrises. I'm so happy for our great city.
  5. The green at Four Leaf is above a parking garage. And it's private property owned by the HOA. I'm surprised it doesn't have a big fence around it, which likely will happen at some point. I remember when they built those towers. They looked huge. The big issue with the 4 Leaf has been the lack of balconies, which many Texans want in a high rise.
  6. Good for him! I hope he enjoys a lighter schedule. Like Jay Leno, it's time to step aside and let the new generation step up to the plate.
  7. Austin is growing up. http://m.bizjournals.com/austin/blog/real-estate/2014/11/2-more-large-downtown-austin-office-projects-move.html
  8. I can assure you, Realtors aren't against it. I know plenty of them - and they are pissed that it isn't happening. Traffic jams help no one.
  9. And triple the cost. I wonder how much they (we) spent on that skin
  10. I love those. I have suggested that to the Uptown district for years. What a difference that would make if you could safely cross the street!
  11. I agree. Obama should've spent some time here. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy - we can't win Texas so why bother trying. Without trying - we don't win Texas. Tiresome. I also think the Mayor/sermon controversy energized the Repubs further at the worst possible time. Maybe, just maybe, Abbott won't embarrass us like Perry did.
  12. I will confirm it with y'all around 8-9PM tonight. Until then, I prefer you to speculate.
  13. Post Oak Central (Hines) has enormous low rise parking garages that could be reconfigured to add additional buildings. Why don't commercial properties wrap the garages with offices or something?
  14. That's a lot of projects for such a small downtown. They must be mostly midrises.
  15. That's great news. I was sitting at that traffic light yesterday, and can't believe how much it has changed this year. That will be a high profile location. I hope they do a handsome design. Too bad txDot has screwed up the bus transit lane etc. The area really needs it.
  16. Moving so fast, yet 7-8 yrs later we still have the ghost of the big, bad, Ashby Highrise!
  17. And "The Donald" and our very own Randall Davis will collaborate to make sure it is a timeless beauty.
  18. Right. I agree with you. They left because the operator didn't keep it up to Ritz standards, not for lack of a market for the brand. It would do well here. Right now, a lot of my clients stay at the ZaZa, which is nice., but no restuarants etc in walking distance. It forces them into a car or cab and changes their experience.
  19. It's one big commercial - but Hines does it right. Everytime. http://609mainattexas.com/mobile/index.html
  20. Thank you for sharing that. I still haven't been on those yet.
