  1. I heard today that the River Oaks hasn't sold as well as they had hoped. I think it will once the site gets cleaned up (IMHO).
  2. The Upper Kirby traffic alert said Colquitt will be closed west of Kirby while they bury the utilities for this project starting Monday. I'm stoked about how Kirby will look when these buildings are built. Too bad the Picos and Office Depot etc didn't get smashed in this last boom.
  3. This may have been corvered elsewhere, but I was with a friend looking at The Wilshire, and the salesperson there told me LaPeep and Sullivan's has been sold, and Equinox is building a 17 story or so "new concept hotel.
  4. Yesterday I saw what looked like core soil test drilling going on right next to the Verizon building. Maybe something is going to happen after all.
  5. Maybe moving people from OKC will speed up the new tower. One can dream, right? http://m.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2015/06/01/apache-restructures-including-new-leadership-plans.html
  6. I agree. Really great news. We can at least "hope" to join the rest of the world, with options other than cars. Here's the HBJ LINK. http://m.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2015/05/texas-lawmaker-loses-bid-to-derail-high-speed.html
  7. The Goode Co Taquiera was a Del Taco and I enjoyed it. Of course I was young (poor) and thought that was the fancy place to go.
  8. Because it's nasty, lifeless and brings down the neighborhood. Let it go!
  9. Geez. Can't people just work for a living like the rest of us? And murdered for what? A car? A wallet? Seriously upsetting.
  10. That makes sense. That is a large tract willie G's is on. We need a 50-60 story there. Then I would be happy!
  11. I agree. It's only been a dated design since day one! Embarrassing. I go to DC a lot for conventions and their convention center is gorgeous.
  12. The HBJ updated the story to say the permit was filed in 2013 (when oil was $100 barrel) and that Apache has no immediate plans for the site. How long is the permit good for?
  13. I give this a 5% chance of happening. In fact, Ashby may be built first. And that sign is the sleaziest thing I've seen in years! Is he selling boats in Miami?
  14. Now it won't be finished in time for the Super Bowl, an it'll be an eyesore! Grrrrrr.
