  1. I saw construction workers doing work on the Sakowitz building (hope I spelled that right)... I couldn't take a pic because I was on the train

  3. Yeah that long construction time always has to do with money. If you can space out how you pay for the project over a certain amount of time, the developer has more leverage in case anything goes wrong financially. The contract was given to the lowest bidder of course but in return you sacrifice how fast it gets built.
  4. Well a lot of the sidewalks are getting redone in Midtown. I think a few of these 3 foot sidewalks have nothing to do with the developer but more to do with the Midtown Redevelopment Authority. They started work on Holman, which was in dire need of new sidewalks.
  5. This stuff looks cool, idk what everyone is complaining about. They have fun art installations like this in every major city, like Philly, NYC, Chicago. And as it ages I think it's gonna look even better, with the grit and normal wear and tear of the city.
  6. It would be awesome if there were boats coming from Buffalo Bayou to the terminal. Turn the terminal in to a destination. You get a tour of where Houston began, then you tour the port and end at the terminal where there are restaurants, gift shops etc. Make it a day tour thing for tourists.
  7. Why is everyone hating on the Color Jam? I've heard so many people say how cool it is just tonite walking through DT.
  8. I recently heard St. Danes will be relocating because Whole Foods bought their lot. Don't know how much of that is true.
  9. Wow this is beautiful! So what is the projected start time to begin some of this vision for the bike lanes?
  10. This is going to tie in downtown so nicely! I just wish it was going to be ready before the Super Bowl!
  11. OMG YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Yeah true, but Hines seems to respect Houston enough where I don't believe its impossible that he decides to restore it. Especially since they don't have clear direction on what they want to do with the building, one would only wonder what other options there would be other than demoing the building and starting over. Seems like they're going to really weigh every option. You also have to think about how many developers are continuing the trend by restoring older structures. Hines has to take notice. Yeah, it just seems perfect for them to actually invest in doing that considering the trend among other developers.
  13. Nice move by Franks to add more room.
  14. Yeah work is well underway with utility work being done first
  15. Wow that sucks! I pray this building is saved!
  16. http://www.uptown-houston.com/news/page/post-oak-boulevard-dedicated-bus-lanes If you scroll down you'll see the City of Houston Memo and a few other things involving the BRT lanes. Great news after those jerks tried to take this before a judge who thankfully dismissed the charges.
  17. I have pics from this past wknd I'll post
  18. For anyone interested in the BRT lanes veing installed alobg Post Oak Blvd... the recent news is very positive... so excited to see this moving forward... the Attorney General basically washed his hands on the issue...
