  1. That is huge for the neighborhood! Why can't every development look like this one or the one off Smith? That brick is awesome!
  2. Any word on this??? I also noticed orange pylons along the Richmond median. Are they repaving Richmond?
  3. I heard a lot of visitors enjoyed the city. One guy I met from Illinois said he had heard of Houston but didn't know much about it. He was impressed with everything and he thought we had a very nice city and downtown. And a big positive was that he said he wanted to come back to Houston after the SB.
  4. Let's all make a vow that if any one of us see's a light go out, we report it asap! I'd hate for these bridges to be neglected again. The lights are so awesome!
  5. You're annoyed by over-managing? The management was by far above world class, if that's even possible. To go a full week without incident is incredible! Just imagine if the downtown population grows to that level consistently, at least we know the city of Houston can handle it like nothing. And yeah, parks reach capacity, big freaking deal. Not too difficult to understand. It's wasn't a bad thing that park was filled to capacity.
  6. Does anyone have any info on the W. Alabama reconstruction? I noticed a small section redone at the W. Alabama/Milam intersection.
  7. How any of yall think this is ugly is beyond me. Prob one of the best developments for residential.
  8. If we flood the Mayor with email's asking for the city to draw a tourist structure, maybe they'll work on some sort of incentive for a developer to build. Idk
  9. IMHO that's ridiculous. They should have had this park ready at least a week before SB kickoff.
  10. Think about the amount of foot traffic that's going to flood Midtown once this is finished and the new Whole Foods on Elgin.
  11. Do yall remember when we had no idea when the superblock would be developed??? Now look at us lol
  12. Something isn't right with that organization. They seem so out of touch with what's going on in urban environments and what people want. Clearly it's politics and money, but it's so damn frustrating.
  13. I wonder how big of an idiot Ric Campo feels like knowing that ESPN is no longer going to showcase his development as their backdrop.
  14. Why can't TxDot fund a commuter rail system? I really have no clue why they are persistent with roads! I just don't understand why a regional transit solution only involves laying concrete for more cars.
  15. Omg is it possible this might finish before the Super Bowl!?!?
  16. And overall it's better to go ahead and clear the land because those apartments were falling apart. In time this project will take off.
  17. The building was falling apart from reports. How much of that is true idk, but if they were having serious issues then I can see where the building wasn't worth saving.
  18. I'm so happy this is finally happening. Between this and the new Midtown park, there is going to be a ton of foot traffic in Midtown.
