For anyone interested in the BRT lanes veing installed alobg Post Oak Blvd... the recent news is very positive... so excited to see this moving forward... the Attorney General basically washed his hands on the issue... I wonder how pissed off those who are against the BRT lanes are now? Lol Uptown-houston.com

This over budget crap is non sense... what was the city budgeting for, some 8 by 11 copies from a Xerox machine to glue to a building. How in the hell do you go over budget on projects that you should already estimate high on?

This has possibly been the plan the entire time... I hope this forces that little plaza across the street where Twin Peaks is at to remodel... that little area has so much untapped potential

Stowers Building To Become An Aloft Hotel At 820 Fannin St.
j_cuevas713 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Downtown
I'd say the bottom one is the only one that is close to real... but notice the clear blue skies in the first few... the water simulation for the pool is off, looks like clear mercury... and there is no real shadow cast the way light actually acts in real life... just too perfect... we do this a lot at my job... its still nice though -

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
j_cuevas713 replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
You do understand a lot of this has to do with the population living downtown right? With the immediate increase of people living in both downtown and midtown and with quick access via rail, this is far from some 70's attempt at a revival. -

I couldn't agree more. The 99 cent store off Main is a cool little store to find quick things. I mean you're in the city, and people want suburbia. I don't get that. I went to a concert recently at Toyota Center and it wasn't difficult to see the difference in those who live or grew up in the city and those who didn't. Some of those people looked terrified. -

I think a mix of all kinds of art is important throughout the city. The more art and color, the better our minds operate... that's a fact. So hopefully they will consider making this a staple for the city even after the Super Bowl.

That building needs some love. A good power washing and a fresh coat of paint and I see this place as a nice upscale dept store. Oh well, gotta keep dreaming.

Great name Makers on Main. This is awesome news! This is exactly the kind of thing downtown needs! I'm going to check this place out for sure. I just told my gf about it.

The only think I don't mind about it is that they've built a nice wall around it with greenery... I wish they would do the same to the one off 59... thing is uuuuugly! -
Sooooo... is the crack going to be repaired? I would hate for one of those "structurally unstable" comments to be made and the thing is demolished
