BigFootsSocks
Article on chron I believe. On mobile but will try to find it later. I'm not one to post fresh hot takes based on my opinion, but I'll try to find the source within a day.
102IAHexpress
Scathing article in today's chronicle regarding the latest harrisburg rail overpass delay. Article is on Houstonchronicle.com not chron.com. The writer called it a nightmare. People are quoted as saying they want to leave their neighborhood. A board member admitted it was not managed well. Hate to say it but this portion of the line is a disaster.

Luminare
I would be lying if I said this wasn't looking good. Especially when this area was in some serious need of some infrastructure love.

samagon
I can't recall the timeline, but I think it was a few weeks, maybe up to a month after they did these tests on the other lines to when they were open? so probably Thanksgiving, but certainly before superbowl? werdserf 99
I'm just hoping it will be financially worth it in the long run. They can do all the studies they want, the ridership will be what really counts.
cspwal
I believe this is the line they wanted to eventually get to Hobby, so in the super long run it'll be worth it
BigFootsSocks
Why not the purple line? It's closer to Hobby isn't it?
cspwal
I'm not sure; the plan I saw (who knows where) had the purple line ending at a transit center with the green line somewhere outside 610, with the green line following Broadway all the way from downtown down in to Hobby
cspwal
Looking for answers, I stumbled on Christof Spieler's old blog at CTCHouston.org There's some interesting tidbits in it The southeast line was being considered as a BRT line for a while - http://www.ctchouston.org/intermodality/2007/01/25/downtown-brt-nice-stop-long-walk/ Quote The design top speed of Houston’s light rail cars is 66 mph. Why? Because the top speed of Dallas’ is 65 mph. http://www.ctchouston.org/intermodality/2006/08/21/do-we-want-to-be-like-dallas/ OK it was everything but the University line that was considered to be BRT at some point http://www.ctchouston.org/intermodality/2006/04/26/show-me-the-money/ Found this image. It was supposedly from the flyer for the Metro referendum http://www.ctchouston.org/intermodality/2006/04/13/legalistic-nonsense-ii-the-documentation/ I couldn't find a map with the green line marked as going to Hobby though
Houston19514
Technically, the plan is for the purple line to go to Hobby Airport. The plan also has the green line meeting up with the purple line (I think at a transit center), as shown in the map in the CSPWAL's post above.) Interestingly, the HGAC 2040 transportation plan includes rail to Bush Intercontinental but not to Hobby.

TheSirDingle
PDF link: https://ridemetro.granicus.com/AgendaViewer.php?view_id=5&clip_id=2096 Plans to make Capitol and Rusk lines dedicated? This is from the January 21, 2021 metro meeting Starting Slide: Metrorail Collisions Pie Chart Data: Potential Traffic improvement for the rail and vehicles around it: Preliminary Concept: Probably should of been the way it was built in the first place, but I'll take it now than never. This should make it 100% dedicated lanes too? Also I'm thinking they're going to add the light switch feature that's being rolled out in some of the buses. hindesky
The Green and Purple line were closed on Saturday because of this crane flying up chiller and parts. They were wrapping it up when I rode by.
