  1. You live in the Heights area right? I need my bungalow home in the Woodland Heights area to be leveled as well and $2600 sounds great. When they leveled the house, was there any worry about pipe adjustment? My house needs to be lifted by a foot and I'm hearing claims that they may need to add some piping. Did any of your windows crack/bust when they leveled the house? Did the sheet rock crack? Thanks!
  2. On mobile right now: "Thank you so much for joining over 1000 of your fellow Houstonians in issuing the urgent call to our congressional delegation to support Houston transit. Unfortunately, Representative Culberson succeeded in convincing the US House of Representatives to bar funding for the locally preferred alternative for the proposed University and Uptown light rail lines. Representative Ted Poe gave an impassioned speech and proposed an amenment to remove the bar on funding, but it lost on a voice vote. However, later in the day, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee added an amendment that she believes negates the Culberson measure. You can see our coverage of everything that happened here. The transportation bill now moves to a conference committee that will include Senators and Representatives to resolve differences between the Senate and House bill, including this anti-transit language. We believe that we have a shot of removing the language during this conference committee process. Houston Tomorrow plans to launch a second phase of this campaign soon, once we know what members will be on the committee. We will keep all of you updated and hope that you will join us in spreading the word and getting even more Houstonian voices to Washington. Houston Tomorrow is a small nonprofit and we are going to have to raise some funds to sustain this fight. The size and scope of the campaign we can wage will be determined by how much we can raise very quickly. I hope you will consider contributing at this link."

  5. Okaaaaaaaaay, guess I'll ask again. Does anyone know what was in the transportation bill that the House passed this week? Any money for light rail?
  6. Agreed... it indeed sounded like that. There are many other sources here... and not all of the conversations happen in the public forums too. Some people only disclose information via private messaging here. Again, there's projects that people aren't at liberty to say publicly but it can certainly be discussed in the back channels.
  7. Well, swtsig is an absolutely great source since he's in the industry and he usually provides information such as location of certain projects and, another key element, the square footage of a project. Swtsig has even seen the Amegy tower rendering before any of us have. Now I'll certainly wait for Swtsig to chime in here but I can't think of a time when the actual height was ever provided... just floor count. Besides Swtsig and Urbannizer, there are actually many other viable sources here. Another great source which I'm surprised no one has mentioned is Juanitos Superior. And some sources just aren't at liberty to say much.
  8. Does anyone know the House of Representatives vote on the transportation bill? I kept reading articles about Culberson and the Richmond rail section but I haven't been able to find a conclusion today.
  9. Wow these are old. So it was the Wedge Tower that had green neon around it? I knew I remembered a building with green neon lights in downtown. Wonder why they took it down.
  10. Why does the floor count seem to keep changing?
  11. That crane that you were asking about is for the Dolce Living project on West Gray.

  13. After reading the Chevron discussion in the Going Up forum, I was curious if anyone had any new information about Shell. I haven't asked the Kinder Morgan head in a while... Just figured I'd ask yall.
  14. Based on the vantage point, I would venture to guess that all these were taken from 2016 Main on the upper floors.
  15. Went grocery shopping at HEB (like usual) and I figured I'd take this pic before I completely left: 2014-06-08 15.15.36 by marclongoria, on Flickr
