    So they do plan to build a W Hotel in Houston? I noticed on another forum that someone had pointed out that they planned to build a W Hotel in Houston and they featured this image: ^^ W Hotel Any thoughts?

    No, I thought the Shamrock site was closer to the inner-core of the city.

    Funny. I ride my bike to that high school/intermediate/elementary school area everyday. And yes, I've noticed soooo many mobile trailers! It looks like they'll have to actually expand the building instead of bringing mobile trailers there. The main reason for the tremendous increase of students is the tremendous growth that is going on in Spring. I don't think the builders of the schools expected that kind of growth.

    Everytime I walk past that site, there's a band on the corner and a homeless guy always wanting my money. But, I really hope that some other person buys this site and builds something on it (something not equaling another McDonald's).

    Polished marble?! The real question is will that polished marble really be a part of the design in the end?

    Yes, they are indeed building one there! I pass by it everyday. It's on the corner of I-45 and Louetta. It's next to Splashtown and Walmart. I can't wait until it opens.

    I completely agree. Since Astroworld is gone, people from all around Southeast Texas will be flocking there. I know I'll be one them!

    Not true. But seriously, what about the question of "why shouldn't Houston have supertalls"? Wasn't there going to be a supertall built in the late 80s called the Shamrock or something?

    Who would have thought Kemah was in the middle of Texas.

    Good thing no one was hurt! I can tell this will further delay the project, though.

    I have to agree. However, I personally doubt that this is the final design for the tower. And even if it is the final design, it's better to get something than nothing at all.
