  1. This was just posted in the bicycle advisory committee infrastructure meeting. Staging for this project is going to block the bike lane so a temporary bike lane is going to be made, and the developer is going to pay for the temporary polk st segment to become permanent in addition to restoring it along lamar/crawford after construction. 26 month construction for the project and the start is imminent. Temp bike lane going in as soon as next week.
  2. Their partner list. I guess they might have the what, $100 million to do something like this, but I'm guessing not.
  3. I'm also interested to see how they are going to manage the rail crossing just south of Harrisburg. I'm guessing that they won't do a under or overpass or anything, so will just have to deal with the trains potentially. Where/when is that graphic from? I don't remember seeing that angle.
  4. Good call, I missed that. Unfortunately, it appears that this is just for the upgraded BOOST bus service and not for reconstruction of the road itself.
  5. Yes, and you bring them on with you just like the light rail.
  6. Looks amazing! ....but it appears they have no money. Not sure tax credits or TIRZ money is going to get this done. Well, they are interested in micro housing... http://texasinnovates.org/micro-housing/
  7. Last I heard was that they just needed funding. Maybe they were going to apply for H-GAC funds or something?
  8. Here is the rendering. Looks great! An actual timeline of the Inner Katy BRT, too.
  9. I completely agree, and it is actually one of the reasons why I recently bought a place in Eastwood near where this line would have a mini transit center to connect the Green Line and the University BRT. It is going to be 15-30 minutes away from the 3 largest job centers (downtown, med center, and uptown), 3 major universities, and Hobby all via mass transit. Would be really nice to be able to not have to worry about what traffic is like on 59 to go Uptown or wherever else.
  10. New Chronicle article: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Massive-Fifth-Ward-project-takes-shape-and-may-16200105.php Not sure there's anything new here, but some more press.
  11. Dug published an update to the University Line BRT. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/transportation/article/Hoping-for-federal-funds-Metro-trying-to-move-16200166.php TLDR: Going to be "fast-tracking" the segments between Westpark/Lower Uptown TC to Wheeler and from Wheeler to Eastwood TC. Aiming for federal approval in Sept 23 and hoping for federal funds then and construction afterwards. This may not be true. Sounds like all 5 segments will be green-lit at once.
  12. Also, there is a new project planned on Richmond not too far from the spur. May have stalled, but now that the Ion is getting started.
  13. This has been the de-facto thread on TOD, so I thought I would just post it here, but this is the first residential project I've found that appears to be taking advantage of the new TOD standards. As a quick, recap, under TOD, there is no minimum parking required for SFR. I noticed on the permit report an ADU going in on W. Alabama, and it is just inside the secondary TOD boundary. It is a really small 3,132 sq ft lot with a small house and an ADU is being added. Normally, this would require 3 non-tandem parking spots, and while I don't KNOW that they won't provide them, I'm not sure how they would with how the property is aligned and gate is setup. Property: Permit:
  14. Honestly, I'll just take confirmation of what they are going to build at this point.
  15. Was just googling Fly Fly Pizza and it appears to be open right now and would let me submit an order on Uber Eats if anyone wants to try. Looks like 8" pizzas start at $5 and it is all vegan. Also, their yelp page lists hours of 9am-midnight and they were listed as being updated a few hours ago. Kind of tempted to order one for pickup and see what is up. Edit: going to try placing an order. We'll see what happens. It said if I need help to call the restaurant at 832-263-1738 Edit2: Found an incomplete site of their captured by archive.org https://web.archive.org/web/20210225124706/https://flyflypizza.com/ Edit3: still no order confirmation and it's been like 6 or 7 minutes, so I'm guessing no one is home lol Edit4: They cancelled it and they are showing as unavailable now. Clearly not ready yet, but that is kind of what I expected.
  16. For reference, I tried to make a scale representation of what the Montrose HEB would look like on the site: DEFINITELY has space.
  17. Evidently they were the ones that sold (or were trying?) to sell the land.
  18. Looks like the large previous Green Sheet lot next door transacted. Anyone know what might go in there? I thought I had read about some townhomes going in somewhere https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1690-North-Loop-Houston-TX/15617544/
  19. My only comment is that some of the supporting work for the overpasses for crosstreets over the railroad tracks have already been completed. It is possibly that they are completing the work that actually benefits the locals and not the extension itself, but of course I don't know that for sure.
  20. Chronicle transportation reporter said it was shelved as of last September I'll reach out to him and ask if he knows if that has changed.
