  1. Native. I think you need your own forum where you can talk about you and all the flights you take. Because it's getting old.
  2. Walked in and manager offered to escort us on a tour. Beautiful place. Didn't realize that it is not just the building that we've been watching and the small building just west of it but much of the building (Black Glass) to west of that. Much more than what I was expecting. Manager said that they but $90 million into the place. It shows.
  3. Good competition for United. Frontier probably won't last. But, anything that won't allow United to take us/Houston for granted is a good thing.
  4. 1981 was 33 years ago. Most people on this site aren't even that old. Anyway....Don't you think we 've grown and changed a bit sence then? Like every city in the U.S. God. Can we all agree to enter a new state of reality?
  5. The bust occurred because a decision made by OPEC to end the embargo. There isn't that kind of lever positioned over us now. Not going to say that there won't ever be another bust or that this boom won't level off. But just because we had one big boom before doesn't mean we will have another in the same way.
  6. Tiger, It's not quite what LA's got. But Canino's is pretty surprising if you haven't been. http://caninoproduce.com/index.html On Airline, inside the loop.
  7. Hey Mr. Clean - When you search Cathexis Real Estate, their Real Estate page can be accessed. But you're right...It's not on their home page. But, nothing else is either. Cathexis is the most mysterious of companies.
  8. Yes! http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/90-old-central-bank-building/page-14#entry476048 It's frequent topic in the midtown section.
  9. Just when your in Houston. I was in San Fransisco a couple weeks ago and the image on my Chase App was of SF. Nice touch.
  10. Cloud has obviously given up reading the ridiculous rail discussions in the Transportation Folder. I admire that.
  11. If Simon/Galleria wanted Dillard's, "under the roof", then why aren't they? They have been sitting just across the street for Decades. You don't really think that Dillard's is holding out or opposing the idea, do you? It's been a ongoing discussion for a long time. Houston19514, you probably are correct that Simon does not own the Westins...But, I they do own contracts with them and you can bet that there is something in there about not introducing any competing hotels to the property.
  12. Simon doesn't want Dillard's, because they don't feel that Dillard's is high end enough. And, they don't want Hyatt competing with their Westins, under the same roof. It's Pretty Simple.
  13. The city has said that they aren't going to invest/fix Richmond unless Metro decides and states that it does not intend to run rail down the street. Reasonable. If metro does start work on the line then the steet will be fixed.
  14. Really glad that Jones Hall and Jones Plaza are situated where they are. Otherwise we could risk loosing Pennzoil, in the skyline, all together.
  15. If a pine tree falls on your house, you cut it up. Have it removed. Fix your house. Insurance pays and life moves on. Aren't tornados more of a threat in Dallas then in the Woodlands? They are much more devastating to homes than a typical hurricane and a falling pine tree or two.
  16. Thanks August. Are these the blue lights on the tops of the Trail lights, do you think/understand? Or do the under-bridge light effects also follow the lunar cycle?
  17. Tiger, The current route is a compromise to go around the only organized opposition (Afton Oaks). The Voters voted/passed the idea of the corridor. True...if Culberson was removed from his position, another politician would slip in and could. also. choose to insert language into bills that could block funding. But I doubt anyone would run on That Platform. The population wants the line. Some people that are close to Culberson are against it. That's it.
