  1. ^^ Plus growing, and underserved populations North, East, South East and South of of DT.
  2. Thanks, Urban. Some very interesting info on the Long Range terminal development plans (for additional 7 gates and 9 domestic). Also, the long overdue improvements to Airport and Broadway Gateways. Cool sculptures.
  3. Worked as a Bell Captain, in San Antonio, in late 80's. The national Southern.' Baptists were in town. Those bags were all heavy... and rattled a lot!
  4. Look at the layout of the building in the rendering. Imagine where the elevator bank(s) would be. To me, it seems as though they would be on the opposite side of structure. Surely not right through the garage side. This surely is the back side of building. However, it is puzzling why the back side rendering was the first leaked/released, unless the developers are not yet ready for the full reveal. I believe that HoustonIsHome is right and that the entrances of the two buildings/blocks with face toward one another. Makes sense that any amenities and any possible retail would be located there.
  5. Maybe the sky bridge so that the residents can use the pool/river at the Marriott? For a price... Of course.
  6. How do we know that there is no GFR in this development? One rendering of one side of one block in a two block project?? Maybe we could learn some facts before we fly off the handle.
  7. ^^ Among other things...and people. Until they needed these things...or the money they bring. But, I thought it was Randall's that what Mormon. Not Safeway.
  8. The other thing missing here, are views of the other three sides. To me, this looks like the back of the building, as there is not any apparent pedestrian entrance. Perhaps, this garage is the the back...behind retail. Looks like it to me.
  9. Isn't this two blocks, two phases? One block/phase 8 stories (this we see) and the other 12?
  10. Ribbit. Miss Piggy will be sooo turned on by this place.
  11. Think that the one story structure is a garage entrance/exit which will be linked to the Garage next to the tower. Will give Market Square a little breathing room...but not much for the street front, it seems.
  12. I'm thinking the other buildings are there to throw the scent.
  13. To me the scale and proprtions appear to be way off. As if the the subject model were just placed I a group of unrelated models. I mean, certainly this building won't be 50 to 60 stories tall.
  14. This one could still get a jump on Capitol and the Hines. No demolition needed. I doubt it... But, still possbile.
  15. Regarding the Hou-SA-MX route: I wasn't saying that it should go to Houston instead of north toward OKC, but in addition. For Houston, after the Dallas connection, the SA connection makes sense, which may join the SA-MX line anyway. There would be a lot of Traffic between Monterrey and Houston. The Dog-leg of Hou-SA-Monterrey is pretty obtuse.
  16. Monterrey - SA - Houston would be a great line too. Lots of commerce there.
  17. Cloud - SWA really is on record saying that, in view that neither of their Airports (HOU, LUV) are the airports that have been discussed? That'd be an interesting endoresment.
  18. ^^ That is exactly what I mean by "Design Guidlines". Put Alley's in the back and limit curb-cuts and tall fences in the front.
  19. It would be interesting for the Cathexis (or whoever the developer will be) to Plat, Subdived, "zone" and issue some Design/material guidelines, so that there is some harmony and some unplanned rendomness. Then, sell the lots to individual buyers or smaller devlopers and let it develop quasi-organically. I know this goes against everything we as Houstonian's stand for. But, it might just be interesting in an area this size. Maybe the zoning could expire after a period of time...so, that it could be considered part Houston.
