  1. I don't think any major grocery store can easily split the main shopping floors between two levels. To me it looks like this one willl be two floors. But, the second floor is probably a dining/lounge mezzanine, or something. If customers are going to be pushing carts, it's got to be one floor, and maybe a parking garage. But searching for items on your list, between two floors, just won't work. At least not here. Yet. Can anyone think of any examples of major grocery stores that cover two floors in this way?
  2. Also from the Houston Business Journal: http://media.bizj.us/view/img/5833521/george-bush-intercontinental-terminal-c-north*600xx585-390-58-0.jpg
  3. Cloud. Interesting. It appears to be 19 completed floors on MM. Also, interesting to note it that the 19th floor on the Hilton is even at floor 12 or 13 on Hess.
  4. Cloud. You were exactly at eye level with the highest completed floor of the Marquis. From what floor of the Hilton did you take that shot?
  5. They are lowering the roof because the FAA complained.
  6. The new alignment of I-10/I-45 will open this open this plot of land up, a lot.
  7. Utilities, streets, sites are all set. Two weeks ago, no slabs had been poured.
  8. I'm not really sure what people were/are expecting from this little project. It's a Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy and there really isn't that much to work with. It's great that it's a renovation of a derelict old hotel. But, were we really expecting much more. I think maybe it was news when the renovation was announced, but there have been so many announcements since and there are so many larger projects underway, that it just isn't big news anymore. It will be, a decent little place when it's done, I think. Will add more life to the area.
  9. Because then they would have to merge. And split off. That's what slows down traffic.
  10. Whoa! Very impressive. Sunshine Skyway meets Selina. Love it. TxDOT is pulling out stops recently.
  11. I think that if some more of our community leaders had similar "chaos" in their heads, this city would be beyond where we currently are.
  12. Quote from the Biz Journal article: Used aircraft are less costly to add to the fleet than are new planes, but they can be more prone to maintenance issues and, even with upgraded interiors, they may not match the amenities available on newer-model planes. Unquote.
  13. United is also planning to supplement its fleet with a few dozen used/leased narrow bodied jets that are are not expected to have many of the more updated features of newer equipment. So, don't expect too much continuity in their product for a long while.
  14. http://dilemmaxdotnet.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/braniff_concorde.jpg And a Concorde for a very short while.
  15. Braniff. The real Braniff. The Flying Colors Braniff. With an Orange 747 and a Calder painted DC-8. Now, that was a cool airline. Used to give 727 gliders to kids. Don't even get me started on the FA's uniforms. Great stuff. There's a lot more. But yeah. Braniff.
  16. Still trying to get my head around this. It's amazing and really never thought that TXDot would shoot for the "Grand Option". All is far from said and done, I know. But Wow...just Wow. I'm a little curious how motorists coming up 45 or West on I-10 will get over to Allen Pkwy, Midtown and Montrose, most efficiently. Also, Looks Like Charters will be eliminated and St. Emmanuel will become Primary northbound surface lanes. Not sure, but appears that the blocks between will be preserved. Right? Wondering about Tout Suite Coffee Shop...
  17. It could be our little secret... shhhhh. tell me.
  18. This part of the public was is unaware of that. Good idea. HC is in the middle of everything now. And the "pedestrian experience" is abysmal. Just where did you see this, Cloud?
