"Money for those improvements should come from a pending sale of the museum's planned building site, a 1.44-acre tract at Main and Hadley for apartment development. M. Scot Davis of Trammell Crow Residential said the high-end project, Alexan Midtown, will have five stories of apartments atop two levels of parking. Davis said the average 850-square-foot unit will lease for about $1,700 a month. Sale of property is to close on Monday, Davis said. Construction of the 215-unit complex should begin in January, with the first units ready for occupancy in early 2015."

    Those are fantastic. That oak is huge. I was just reading that the hanging oak at the corner of Bagby and Rusk was Houston's oldest oak at 400 years, but this one looks way larger.

    Seems like a large proportion of the crimes I have been hearing of lately are being committed by 12 - 14 year old kids. Most of the recent uptick in midtown crimes were apparently 13 year old kids. A pair of them tried to wave me down which is when I actually realized how young a 12 year old kid really is. It must be really crappy to get robbed by a child. To be honest there is much more of a chance I get shot if a 12 year old rolls up on me with a gun. I would be quick to hand over a cell phone or whatever to anybody holding a gun in my face, but I would be much more inclined to punch said robber in the face if he weighed 95 pounds. I will let you all know soon how a bullet to the ribs feels. Architecture.

    I was disappointed to hear that the original brick was in a state of disrepair. I began to worry about the finished product but this thing already looks much better than before the renovation. Fan.

    I thought there was a desire to have this finished by the next final four. Twenty-six months from Q4 sounds accurate for that timetable.

    My fiance and I are fully planning on moving into downtown in October 2014. We are currently nearby in midtown but want to live even closer and hopefully higher.

    Definitely proposed for this location. That is 100% the Texaco building along side it. Ok not so definite if there is a similar building in Atlanta.
