A plan review permit was submitted yesterday for one of the ground floor units at Texas Tower. According to the permit, it's for a cafe / restaurant. The name of the permit is Carousel. I don't know if that will be the restaurant's moniker or not.

Carousel will be located at 845 Texas Ave, Suite 100. It's occupying the unit previously leased to Cafe Sophie, a dining concept from Chicago restaurant group What If Syndicate.

^  Interesting.  I believe the Cafe Sophie space was the round space.  Carousel sounds like a great concept for the space.

You are correct. The unit Carousel will occupy is the round space on the ground level of Texas Tower. Suite 100 is on the corner of Texas Ave and Milam St.

So, Carousel is another dining concept from Berg Hospitality Group. Interesting.

As previously mentioned, Carousel is one of several ground floor retail at Hine's Texas Tower. It's occupying the unit at 845 Texas Ave, Suite 100. The unit was initially leased to Cafe Sophie, a dining concept from Chicago restaurant group What If Syndicate.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing, Carousel is going to be a coffee shop by day and a bar at night. Cisneros Design Studio is the architect of record.

Carousel joins Dune Road at Texas Tower, another dining concept from Berg Hospitality Group.

Word is Berg Hospitality Group has plans for a concept named The Sylvie. I wonder if it will occupy the unit that was to be Etta or elsewhere.

An update on the second Berg Hospitality Group (BHG) concept planned for Texas Tower: Joining Dune Road  at 845 Texas Ave is The Sylvie.

Berg Hospitality Group listed Carousel as the name of the restaurant in permits and other filings. However, an updated site plan for Texas Tower reveals the name of the carousel space as The Sylvie.

A few months ago, I noted the restaurant group has plans for a restaurant named The Sylvie.  However, I assumed it may take over the space previously leased to Etta.

The Sylvie is a coffee shop by day and bar at night. It will likely open next year at 845 Texas Ave, Suite 100.

"Law firm Clifford Chance, which entered the Houston market earlier this year, has signed on to lease 60,400 square feet across two floors in the 47-story, 1 million-square-foot tower at 845 Texas Ave.

The firm’s lease marks a major expansion of its presence in Texas Tower.

Clifford Chance announced in early June that it is occupying space at The Square at Texas Tower, Hines' coworking space.

Since then, the firm has transitioned to two spec suites to accommodate its growing team. The expansion into Houston builds on Clifford Chance's wider Americas operations in New York; Washington, D.C.; and São Paulo, Brazil.

Also, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management has leased 37,600 square feet at Texas Tower."
