there's another apartment development slated right next door on the corner of TC Jester and Washington - potential mixed-use but don't quote me on that.

NE or NW side to Washington? One side is a wrecker shop and the other a TYCO office/warehouse

Maybe there should be different thread for this but the huge parcel of land between bordered by Schuler/Detering/TC Jester/Washington appears to be under development.  The tow yard has closed/moved and the walls are being torn down.  Snapped a couple pics just on my way home when I saw it.  They could do some awesome stuff with that chunk of land, hope it's more than just apartments.

Are they finally getting rid of this eye-sore? I hope so. Drove by the other day and looks like they are in the process of dismantling. Would love to see this site repurposed into something great given the high profile location on Washington Ave at TC Jester.

 

I have a personal grudge against this place, aside from the building. I have seen there tow-truck drivers routinely speeding recklessly around (not unique to them, I guess) and was nearly hit by one of them.

This site is huge and has tremendous potential. I didn't realize that the fenced in sliver along TC Jester (SW side) is parking for employees who work in the Fisk business across the street. Wonder if Fruge leased that to them. I wasn't very observant as I thought that portion of the property was Fruge's inbound lot.

Well, potentially great news depending upon design and what's included in the "mixed-use" bit! Down side is that traffic will be a nightmare at this intersection! Pearl on Washington not to be confused with Pearl Bar on Washington or Pearl Washington who played at Syracuse in the 80's and was the first pick of the NJ Nets!

Looking at the Plat app (the pdf), does that mean Marshall Construction Company is buying the chihuahua dump yard? That place needs to go or get a better fence.

Thanks for info, hopefully some useful things will go up in the neighborhood.

 

Yes anything to replace that eyesore would be an improvement to the area.

Mixed use would be great here.

 

I have yet to see a Pearl with ground floor retail :/ Its stupid because they make good mid-rises, but the lack of retail is so daft.

 

Hopefully it is their first pass at it!
