j_cuevas713
I'm so happy this is finally happening. Between this and the new Midtown park, there is going to be a ton of foot traffic in Midtown.
H-Town Man
Wow. Whole Foods and HEB determined not to lose the edge in the hip urban grocery race. Bad for the overbuilt multi family market, good for armchair urbanists like us.

architrist
the site isn't super small but it would be a tight whole foods. does anybody think there's a chance this will be a stacked grocery store?

Texasota
Right, which is what the excised stub of Rosalie will be for. This should be a pretty standard sized WFM: not Austin-flagship sized, but normal urban Whole Foods.

architrist
Is there any reason it looks like all the Whole Foods branding has been taken off the fence?

j_cuevas713
According to the Business Journal, they are closing 9 and opening 6 from what I read. I'm assuming 1 of the 6 is the new Midtown location.
MarathonMan
I just drove past the site.  The Whole Food sections of the fence have definitely been removed.  No sign of Whole Foods at all.
hindesky
All the signage that showed the building with the Whole Foods are gone, they only have lifestyle photos up now. I wonder what is up?
JoninATX
I sure hope "if" Whole foods does pull out, it doesn't effect the status of the project. Or it could be that they are ready to build covered walks. They did the same in Austin with 5th + West in which they had rendering of the tower then pulled it not long after.

Chi-Char-Hou-Dal
Here's to hoping it's a legal thing where WF didn't want their name plastered all over the Morgan Group's signage. KinkaidAlum
The Morgan Group put out a press release today about the official ground breaking. Whole Foods is INCLUDED. Â False alarm appears to be false.
Popular Post BigFootsSocks
We went from;  "Look at these renderings on the fence with Whole Foods!"  to  "Look! They've removed the renderings! What happened to Whole Foods?"  to  "Look at this article! Whole Foods is closing some stores!"  to  "Well looks like this could be one of them...?"  to  "Here are some ideas for replacements"  All in a matter of days. Houston19514
FWIW, the store is still listed on Whole Foods' website as one of their "stores in development". Edited February 20, 2017 by Houston19514
hindesky
Hopefully the architecture changed and they didn't want the old design still being put up as advertising.
