  1. I absolutely love everything about this project. Historic architecture, apartments, ground floor retail. Looks great.
  2. I agree. That's why the Lyric Center is renovating their lobby ect and adding a parking garage with ground floor retail to improve their property to compete with the downtown market.
  3. Last time I flew United I was leaving Lake Tahoe flying out of Reno and connecting in San Francisco on the way back to Houston. The plane had issues, we had to get off, it was delayed 3 hours, finally got to San Fran, missed the connecting flight and the next available flight to Houston wasn't for like 8 hours, then that flight was delayed 2 hours.... I haven't flown United since... Anyway, I'm glad 609 is getting leased up.
  4. Found their website and Facebook page http://www.thestarhouston.com/ https://www.facebook.com/The-Star-1515007392136573/?fref=photo
  5. if its already peeling then it will look like a failed paintball fight at that corner by the time the Super Bowl rolls around....
  6. Yea I can't wait to check it out as well. There will also be other restaurants at the street level of the hotel as well as restaurants at the bottom of GRB along the street.
  7. ^ Love the last shot of five (you can see the crane for Aris) construction projects going up in the frame.
  8. Interesting. Didn't know this was happening. The last few times I was downtown I noticed the gap between Frank's Pizza and Aris, nice to know it will be filled.
  9. hmmm its no longer listed on the development map... http://downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2016-02-15/160215_Development_Map__Renders_11X17.pdf
  10. 31 months? block 334 construction crew? Joking aside, I'm glad this one is finally going ahead.
  11. Yea I was thinking the same thing. The exterior underneath is ruined. I wonder whose brilliant idea it was to "modernize" a lot of these old buildings a few decades ago with these lousy facades.
  12. Sweet! I was told that the light rail wouldn't spur development along the line
  13. lol i noticed that too that they were deleting any comment about them reopening. With that said, I wonder what kind of renovations or changes that they will be making....
  14. apparently its closed and changing its name to Irish Cowboy according to someone who posted on there https://www.facebook.com/irishcowboyhouston/?fref=ts
  15. Just saw on their FB page. I wonder why. I hadn't really been since I moved out of midtown 2 years ago but assumed it was still pretty popular. Oh well. https://www.facebook.com/celticgardens/?fref=ts
  16. Scroll to the middle of the page to see pictures of it. http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/28738-market-square-tower-40-story-high-rise-for-downtown/page-22
  17. It's as if Downtown and "Uptown" are competing to see who builds the most high-rises. Downtown's infrastructure is way better though.
  18. looks like they're done with the base and are starting the apartment tower part. This one seems to have picked up speed.
