  1. see yall tonight....i'll be METRO-ing in by 6. amada, the bartendrix, is aware of the gathering and will point me out.
  2. 13 news just had a story that said the city denied a demolition permit for RO shopping center. sounds like weingarten is starting to move forward.
  3. i just spoke with bartender...she said if anyone had too much attitude, they wouldnt be there long.
  4. yes, i will warn her. i was thinkin of wearin a 60s smoking jacket (although i don't smoke) or perhaps a cd on a chain around my neck?
  5. there's no specific look. it is a way of building energy efficiently and with earth friendly products.
  6. that's fine...i just picked 6 cause i heard the words "happy hr" i normally get there later but will go earlier for this.
  7. concur. LED technology is lowering energy use for applications such as this, but the techology is still relatively costly. when the ultimate goal is to make the most profit, decorative lighting doesn't justify itself. leed is leadership in energy and environmental design. it is the way a building is built to save energy and be environmentally friendly as possible.
  8. on fox 26 news, they just had a story that said toyota center has a non compete clause and the new stadium will have to get a waiver for it to work.
  9. it won't always work out for everyone...doing it more regularly would solve that problem. i'm still game for warren's on friday at 6 (market square next door is cool too)
  10. there sure were quite a few people downtown last night. we ended up leaving because the post baseball crowd was too loud. but it was fun prior to that!
  11. i agree. buildings that are super-tight need to have specialized hvac systems too which cost more to install and require a bit more maintenance to ensure enough fresh air is introduced into the building. i worked in one new green building that made many people sick because the offgassing of the materials inside. not enough fresh air was being introduced so the offgassed air tended to remain in the building making people ill. the building engineers ended up having to leave the fire exhaust fan on for over a month which forced fresh air to enter the buildings. unfortunately this resolution came more than 6 months after we moved in.
  12. how about, next friday Warren's Inn 6PM and then Market Square b&g at 8PM to watch any games.
  13. the artists/craftspeople do amazing work. some are tacky yes, but many are works of art IMO.
  14. i think some development might occur in the old chinatown area. that area seems to be migrating elsewhere and it might be ripe for redevelopment. the infrastructure seems to be better too. the GRB appears to have isolated it enough from downtown that some merchants have closed up shop.
  15. interesting point about the manicured lot vs. the ugly, dangerous buildings. I think many hope that the ugly, dangerous buildings can be rehabbed too, but point taken.
  16. if your quote "After all, I'm just assuming...which may or may not be a good idea." isn't beating around the bush than i don't know what is.
  17. C2H was simply came to the realization that he was getting into a conversation/argument over something trivial with YOU. see i'm about to do it too!
  18. guess i missed that in the post that said "After all, I'm just assuming...which may or may not be a good idea."
