call garnet coleman's office. he's just trying to keep his empire afloat.
  4. looks like meyerland residents are protesting now on 13. centerpoint told some of the protesters that it may be 2 more weeks.
  5. they are had a lot of free time last week to investigate.
  6. you've also assumed that is the only problem. my neighbors across the street are on the same grid as me and have no power because of a bad transformer on their part of the block
  7. why don't you call khou 11 so they'll do a story?
  8. nah......not really a walmart shopper. where are the other art deco walmarts?
  9. not sure i've ever seen walmart and artdeco in the same sentence.
  10. my parents were telling me that tree crews in their area were sitting in their trucks for 45 mins or so. my dad went out and asked them what was going on. they said "we're waiting for ch 45 who are supposed to come out and do a story on us trimming trees". my dad told them that "he was going to call ch 13 so they can come do a story on them sitting in their truck" LOL
  11. you must be in the business or fine arts college. LOL in the engineering college, there was no dress code.
  12. not when there's an einsteins next door. their fresh coffee and bagels keeps them occupied.
  13. i can officially say i have the power. when i rebooted my computer i got the blue screen of death i will say depending on what crew is in your hood different approaches are taken. 1)in my hood, they were working ot get the hi voltage line up first, applying power and then worrying about transformers later 2) in my parent's hood, the were working to get the hi voltage lines/transformers/downed lines to house up and then applying power
  14. come to the se side...you can see the police officers in the cvs parking lot at bay area and el camino watching the traffic struggle through the intersection....maybe i should come into work later to verify whether they actually leave their cars??
  15. the light co will come trim trees for free if they are too close to lines however many just are not aware that this is a service they provide.
  16. LOL talk to the head of the harris county hospital district sometime. i will say that things could have been a lot worse however at the same time some things could have been better. when i drove through pasadena last week. i was surprised that they had orange cones up on the intersections where there was complete traffic signal failure. all including those unfamiliar with the intersection were stopping because of the cones.
  17. boo centerpoint! LOL i agree that having more info would be helpful. the frustrating part is that last week i followed the my supply lines back to at area where there is power. there doesn't seem to a single downed line. i must also 2nd that for many old/sick/poor people this is a real struggle. we've been bringing ice to an 85 yr old neighbor and checking up on her several times a day. hopefully the front coming through today will provide some relief.
  18. deborah wrigley had a report yesterday how many of east end businesses are suffering because so much of the power is still out. they interviewed the owner of adler restaurant supplies that said he has a whole warehouse full of items for sale but has no power or phone so prospective buyers don't know they are open.
  19. here's the latest posted restoration map. unfortunately seems centerpoint's outage numbers for my zip have gone up since yesterday 71 to 79.
  20. just depends how the hood is laid out. mine has the water main under the sidewalk.
