Hospital President & CEO Mark Wallace discusses the center in his latest blog post. (w/video) The Houston Business Journal provides a capsule version of the post and some brief bits on the project in general. 6. The first tower was completed several years ago, with KBR ultimately leasing a fair amount of space inside. According to a blurb in this November 2011 article from the Houston Business Journal, the second could be on the way in the not too distant future.
  7. The first building and garage was completed several years ago, and it sounds like the second may be on the way, if the blurb from this November 2011 HBJ piece is to be believed.
  8. The firm has picked up the old Arco building on Memorial, just west of Eldridge and southeast of the Westway Park complex. 14. Since 2009, the Intermodal Center and a swath of land on the opposite side of 59 have been designated a Foreign Trade Zone. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=ahODOTUu4GYE Didn't realize that GBI purchased the 340 acres on that other side. Then again, it being GBI... the rendering is going to be pretty far-fetched by default. http://www.gbiinternational.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=40 Also didn't realize that Whirlpool had considered building a distribution site at the Terminal. Haven't seen anything other than the HBJ article though, so who knows what happened to that... http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/print-edition/2010/11/12/whirlpool-spins-huge-project.html?page=all

When KMart closed, the space was subdivided into 4 stores including a DSW Shoe Warehouse.
