Texas Instrument Sugar Land Facility At 13905 University Blvd.
Fringe replied to Moviewriter's topic in Points Southwest
I read a while back that TI was downsizing and moving their Stafford location to Sugar Land. Don't know if that's still true but if so that's a pretty big chunk of property they have in Stafford. I remember when the place first opened. They were out in the middle of no-where. Commercial property all around them now. Edit: This article seems to answer my own question: http://www.fortbendstar.com/2012/11/14/texas-instruments-move-to-sugar-land-is-a-big-disappointment-for-stafford/ -

Gerland's Store In Sugar Creek Shopping Center To Be Fiesta
Fringe replied to Pleak's topic in Points Southwest
Also has Slow Dough Bread which I love. I tried to go by the first day and there was not a parking spot to be had in the whole parking lot, and it's a big parking lot. Finally got by there a few days later and it was okay. Good wine selection but very poor beer selection. Like all Fiesta's it still has a lot of interesting international food selections. Business is brisk for now but don't know how long that will last. Will be mainly used by "Creekers". I don't think people are going to continue to drive a long distance to go there. -
Probably was. Definitely the right location.

Thanks. Just could not recall the name. I remember it was pretty small and nothing great but it was convenient at the time.

The building at Main and Richmond has long been torn down but wife and I were having a discussion recently about old theaters and remember going there in the 70's and 80's. Cannot recall the name of the place though.

When Did The Men's Wearhouse Headquarters Leave Houston?

Zimmer is almost as big of a fixture in H town as Mattress Mack. I would be interested to learn why they ousted him. -
10 reasons why so many people are moving to Texas
Fringe replied to Subdude's topic in General Houston Discussions
Some of the Brits comments are amusing. Like the the guy that said he lived in Houston and it was hot in the summer and had snow in the winter. He must have confused Houston with Dallas. Most comments are favorable of Texas. People in Europe love Texans for some reason, even though they might not care for Americans. -
The batteries security/fire alarm systems use may not be easy to find, although you may try Radio Shack. The batteries are located in the main power panel. Probably 6 volt. Regardless, they are only used if your main power fails, so I wouldn't worry about it. Not going to affect your system otherwise.

Taco Milagro closing

To bad. Sounds like Upper Kirby is gradually pricing all the fun/inexpensive places out. -

I wonder whatever became of the carousel they used to have? It was really a nice one.

I love the Otis Otis Otis. The Blue Cheese burger is also very good.

I agree. Stupid place for a park. Especially if you have to pay $20 to park next to the park.

Crane wasn't the one that ran the Astros into the ground. Hopefully he's on the right track to making them a respectful franchise again. I'm not mad at him for rebuilding but I am mad at this whole exclusive Comcast TV network that won't let me watch Rockets or Astro games. Talk about alienating fans. I had Comcast once and I wouldn't have them again even if they paid me. Worse company in the world.

Good read. I frequented the Norris on Post Oak back in the day when I had hair to cut. -
Gerland's Store In Sugar Creek Shopping Center To Be Fiesta
Fringe replied to Pleak's topic in Points Southwest
I'm really happy it's going to be a Fiesta but kind of surprised. Except for the yard guys, there's no Mexicans in Sugar Creek or anywhere in the immediate area. I hope they do well. -
Perhaps similar to LaCenterra in Katy. I wonder how all this development is going to affect the old Imperial Sugar factory development? Not that anything is happening anyway at the factory. I haven't noticed any work being done in the last year.
