  1. I think this is the location. This is also right across the street from the redevelopment of the River Oaks Paint & Body shop!
  2. The sun rays go from East to West of our city, North and South of this building will not get much shade (vs East and West of the building)
  3. Seems like you have been affecting by the right-leaning media accounts :) Maybe try doing research somewhere other than the media? Like actual research not what some guy mentioned on TV
  4. Me and my friends go here from time to time on a busy weekend, usually find parking no more than 10 minutes. Its really not needed IMO
  5. So the entire block is going to be for the car wash? I thought it was only on 1718 N Shepherd. Thats a huge lot for just a car wash :/ and their other locations aren't as big as this would be. Don't think this street is going as walkable as we think unfortunately
  6. Kind of sad since this is the only gym in midtown, hopefully another gym takes over.
  7. Thats what I stated in my previous comments, there will never be a complete ban on guns, however, there needs to be some kind of regulation. It seems that whenever someone brings up any kind of gun regulation, gun activist always try to gas light the idea that the other side is trying to completely ban guns, limited any kind of progress to be done. In fact, I'm sure that we've all noticed gun laws have become looser and looser. There was already an AR ban in the US that ended in 2004, that ended and now states have been pushing other pro gun reforms like open carry and not needed to have a permit on hand. Like I suggested before, for law abiding citizens this does nothing, all it does is help criminals freely and openly carry guns :) Again, most of us can agree that crime is one of the biggest issues in the US right now, so if laws could be passed to make it harder for criminals and mentally ill citizens from carrying weapons, whats the problem?
  8. This stretch of Westheimer is getting minor upgrades! I'm not sure the exact details, but from what I've seen over the weekend, it looks like they're expanding the sidewalks and they've added medians! Really hope they install traffic light arm masts because the string of street lights is not cutting it. Also, side note, still no activity at the Lulu building
  9. So who are these elites and wealthy people that we're going into war with? Jeff Bezos? Why do they want to disarm us? You really think the elites are worried about a bunch of citizens that are fighting and killing themselves? By your logic, they're already winning.
  10. The founding fathers weren't dealing with school/mass shootings and the crime we're dealing with today, it was to prevent the need of the US to have a professional army. It doesn't make sense to compare 1789 issues with 2023 issues. The bill of rights was literally written 234 years ago.... to say that those same issues are prevalent today is very stone-age thinking. Sorry to break it to you but, you're being gas lit by politicians funded by the NRA and other gun lobbyist groups, they have you in the palm of their hand. They could tell you that Washington is going to destroy the constitution and the only way to protect it was to bring your guns and start a war....and you guys would 😂. You previously brought up Australia about how they banned guns, but ironically, you didn't mention how they no longer have mass shootings. Its kind of weird, its like the main issue is altering a 234 year old bill instead of the general public's safety. Worrying about crime but not willing to do anything about, THEN blame the other party. America is very selfish.
  11. Couldn't get a picture but the building is almost completed, suburban style bank, nothing too crazy. More interested in what will happen at the old location across the street.
  12. Contrary, I feel like men have the bigger issue since most of our politicians trying to control abortion are in fact MALE. Also, yes, 50% of the US population are women, but of those 50% only 0.01% of women in the US actually go through abortion. So we (specifically our MALE politicians) are so worried about gas lighting the US about controlling/ eliminating abortion for 0.01% of the population......which in other words does not affect the majority of us. So we should just not do anything about the mass/school shootings? And the answer is just to supply everyone with MORE guns? All because we're worried about the "what if" instead of worrying about the crime thats currently going on?
  13. Maybe we can petition for it somehow? How much could it possibly cost them? 20K max?
  14. Those people legit baffle me, they're so quick to gas light the "socialism" agenda. Based on their standards, Europe/ Canada/ pretty much all of the western countries would be considered socialist. Also, a little off topic, but the gun topic is what really infuriates me. Those same people complain about crime, yet when something is trying to be done with gun control, they cry second amendment, gas lighting hypocrites. If you follow the law, use your gun responsibly, WHY ON EARTH do you care about having stricter background checks/raising the age limit to buy a gun. The whole point of gun reform is to make sure bad people don't have guns... and they have a problem with that?? Those people are sooo naive and are brainwashed to think that ANY kind of gun control means the government is going to personally knock on their door and confiscate their bazooka, those people are sheep and the gas lighting politicians are their shepherds.
  15. It's sad, American Politics have legit become a joke. We're obsessed with electing the oldest and most problematic people to run our country, and all they're obsessed with is topics that legit doesn't affect most of us Americans; Abortion, gender pronouns, and pointing the finger at the other political group. Instead we should be focusing on: Better regulating our foods; we legit allow a huge list of products that are banned in A LOT of countries. Products that have been proven to increase risk of cardiovascular dz, Alzheimers, ADHD, etc. It can anything from a product in a salad dressing, we're being slowly poisoned for profit. Gun violence/crime; I'm sure we all can all attest that this is becoming worse and worse with absolutely nothing being done. America as a whole does not feel as safe as it used to, the entire justice system is broken. Healthcare; the pharmaceutical companies are legit uncharging EVERYONE. The same exact medication you buy here can be bought across the border (Canada or Mexico) for a fraction of the price from the SAME EXACT COMPANY. This benefits no one but the pharmaceutical companies themselves, they're legit scamming all of us and making sure they have politicians on their side to prevent any change from happening. Infrastructure; it honestly baffles me that a country as rich as America has streets like lower Westheimer. Our streets, rail, bridges, even our some of our airports are very outdated. I don't want to hear how this is very expensive for us to maintain when we send BILLIONS to other countries "military aids." Our politicians stopped putting America first and its really starting to show, they're all sell outs.
  16. Contrary to everyone else, there's something that really attracts me to this building 😂. It's very different, abstract, unique. I know its not aesthetically pleasing to most people on this forum, but I kind of love it. The green stone and the contrasting materials, the contrasting colors, the interesting shape of the building, even the landscape is interesting. The name with that specific font is the cherry on top for me. Its all very eerie and illuminati-esque, as corny as it sounds, it makes you feel SOMETHING when looking at the building, instead of looking at a same style building that we've seen before. Its art IMO 🤷‍♂️
  17. I agree that NIMBY is mainly to blame, however, the developer doesn't necessarily have clean hands either. They could EASILY paint it with some kind of mural They could add some kind of green element like the ION garage They could add panels They could/should have done numerous things with the garage that wouldn't have cost them as much but they decided to leave it completely exposed. I'm holding my final judgement until its finished because I still have hope that they'll put ANYTHING on that garage. Literally if they paint the garage black and put glass on the openings (like the Porsche garage on 59), i'll be happy.
  18. Yeahhh its very unfortunate, and based off the renderings, we're basically looking at the finished product :/
  19. It looks like the garage portion is done and they're starting on the actual units now (if i'm not mistaken)
  20. Could it possible be that empty lot on the corner of 610 and Post Oak, right next to the hotel? There aren't many empty lots in the galleria area.
  21. It's crazy to me how such a major project isn't funded yet some of the smaller local streets are. I know its not how it should be prioritized, but I already thought major streets should get priority over local/ neighborhood streets that get less traffic. Hopefully this can move forward soon.
  22. I'm not opposed to this project, but I do understand the neighbors frustrations. The streets are really narrow, and the area is veryyyy residential with only a few small businesses here and there along Bissonnet. However, this is very much a Houston type project. Massive buildings going up residential/ small streets, with strip centers/ gas stations/ parking lots going up main streets. Wish we could work the other way to put these larger buildings along major streets like Kirby or somewhere in the museum district, but it is what it is.
