  1. IMO, I think an apartment building in that site would make more sense. There's already 2 HEBs within 1.5/1.1 miles each, a Target within 1 mile, a Trader Joes 0.6 miles, a Kroger 1.6 miles, and a Whole Foods right across the street. Not to mention, an apartment building will do more with streetscape than another grocery store.
  2. Great news! Hopefully they can also work to create a central train station instead of having each station at different locations.
  3. Residence inn usually look like the cookie cutter hotels :/ would prefer the land to stay empty in that case
  4. These are actually really common in urban cities like NYC and Chicago
  5. https://abc13.com/galleria-area-street-signs-uptown-houston-rings-silver-with-names-unique/13456594/ It now lights up at night! Looks really nice!
  6. Ah yes, the tropical blue waters of the San Antonio river 😂 Dude, seriously the water color is very common in big cities around the world (as shown in my above post). I always find it funny when people think the color of the bayou is absurd. It's like an instant tell that that person hasn't traveled much.
  7. The developments in Houston have been very abysmal honestly. Most major sites are being developed as either HUGE gas stations or strip centers with a sea of parking facing the street. The only thing Houston has really done is remove parking mandate in midtown and create market based parking in EADO, while the majority of Houston is left exactly the same.
  8. I hate it soo much :(, I know we technically need gas stations, but why do they have to be in such prime intersections and have 105 pumps?!
  9. This location will be a new C-store and a liquor store. A sign on the lot also indicates a gas station, however, that isn't on the permit. These gas stations popping up on every major block are legit killing me.
  10. Very red, but the good thing with brick is that the color will start to fade as it ages. So it will look better over time!
  11. 2101 Lexington St along with the garage out back is officially demolished. Couldn't get any pictures Really hope the site plan changed for this one. Looks like we're going dense to sprawl with this project :/
  12. The site plan doesn't make sense, are they planning on demolishing half the building for parking?
  13. Its for marketing, theres the same exact sign in front of a shopping center in front of my neighborhood.
  14. Jeez, why is the Houston Planning Commission being this aggressive with the parking when the parking mandates are eventually going to be lessened according to them???
  15. Could you please explain what this means in layman's terms :)
  16. Pattern Energy relocated its Houston Hub from downtown (32nd floor at 1201 Louisiana) to this building. They're occupying 21,000 sqft at the 2nd and 3rd floor, and have 150 employees that will be based out of this building. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:t_jKFZdy0bkJ:https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/pattern-energy-office-move-montrose-collective-18152760.php&cd=11&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=safari According to Radom, the Montrose Collective is officially FULLY LEASED! This is exciting because I feel like other developers will now look at this development and use it as a blueprint for their future project since this is clearly a success!
  17. Is it possible that this Public Storage and the Public Storage across the street to consolidate? They're way to close each other.
  18. First demo, looks like its only for the garage in the back. Is it possible the development changed?
  19. I get what you're saying, but there are some palm trees that are actually native to Texas. You can actually see them growing out of nowhere on its own in Houston. I've seen them growing out of asphalt ground right next to a utility pole. I always see them sprouting from the grown in random places, even breaking through concrete/ asphalt coming from nowhere. Now in terms of how they look, I'm sure we can all appreciate how tropical palm trees look and feel. Some of the most famous picturesque streets in California and Florida are palm tree lined, same goes with other areas around the world. We legit have sooooooo much Oak trees, so I actually appreciate the change of scenery.
