  1. I thought I would start an official thread on this. It sounds like this will have good height to it. Swstig mentioned something near St. Thomas university. Could this be the project? Does anyone have more information on the exact location?
  2. How tall is this building? I can't imagine they are digging 4 stories deep for just a 6 story building... Right?
  3. this sounds exactly like city centre... there must be retail.... would blow my mind if it had zero retail...
  4. so it sounds like they were talking about the site closer to the corner of waugh and memorial, not the archstone apartments... was that a misunderstanding? Can we get a little clarity? 1) we know archstone apartments are now owned by midway. 2) talk was previous of the redevelopement of the property near waugh dr and feagan st. - does midway own this / plan to develop this?
  5. @ Howard Huge. the namesake of your profile picture is in intensive care following major heart surgery. Hopefully he comes out of it well. just an FYI
  6. Yes, great insight from swtsig. Bob, there is a lot more than the list you provided. And it has been tremendous growth. Very very exciting to see.
  7. I am sure Midway is capable of multiple projects at the same time. City Centre is about to reach its potential anyway. In terms of expansion / design there isnt much more room to go outside of their latest expansion announcement. I would assume that the same principlals that make city centre popular would apply and be expounded on at this site. I actually expect / hope for really great things. No doubt there should be residential, but there should be retail and office. If they can manage to throw in some green space in, how could this not be the focal point of washington avenue?
  8. Anything come out of the city council meeting? I know this was an agenda item
  9. What makes you think they are taking it off the market? Last I heard midway was in the running and wanted to buy this
  10. I certainly hope so. This would push, maybe even SHOVE, the area into becoming a great urban destination... and will definitely effect other things surrounding it. I am hoping for a little height and alot of density.
  11. I am actually a huge tree / nature lover. Trees can make all the difference in an urban setting as well. Those trees were special.
  12. I dont want to sound like a tree hugger. but those trees were very impressive / magestic. I always thought the area was Park-like... It's a bit sad to see them go down. Here's hoping the building was well worth it!
  13. This building is not making good use of the land. This has so much potential. I hope to see it redeveloped just like the post office site could be
  14. I guess we just have to wait and see. Do I remember correctly that Bloomingdale's is HQ in NYC?
  15. No. Police Headqaurters and Municipal Courts are just outside downtown.
  16. I honestly don't even want to see a rendering at this point. Let's just see it like mother nature intended... In stages. Haha
  17. I was on the bridge of tc jester near i ten going south and noticed that the skylines are literally merging. Kirby drive was directly ahead of us. How tall will these towers be? This project and the Hanover 40 story will just add to the skyline. If yall haven't see this view, it is incredible
  18. We got a lot of great projects in the past year. Hoping that this one (Kirby Thor) and others continue as planned (Hines Market Square for example). Slow down isn't fun to think about, but life goes on and we will see more things happen. I think M-59 or Bridgeview whatever seems unlikely as does the 41 story market square office. My oil company thinks worst case scenario 2 years of low oil prices.. Worst case (so they say, and I'm inclined to believe them)
  19. I like this building(s). I think it is a good concept. That has value even if the market cools a bit. I hope this still is on track. In terms of swtsig... I appreciate his insight. I don't really appreciate the way he chooses to communicate. But I'm an adult... No sense getting mad at an Internet personality. As a young person, I prefer to wait and see how the market responds to everything. I have a hard time buying into a doom situation. In general, I feel strongly the city will continue to make positive steps forward and grow / add density / urbanize.
  20. Alright. I care because it sounded like it could go by my neighborhood. Not a fan of exposing 1st or 6th ward to that.
