What's this 400 room hotel they speak of?

I hope youre right and 6 HC goes up. I know Houston is a power house, and developers have taken notice. I also refer back to what the Midway COO or VP said: "Houston has become a primary market where investment is not dependant on economic cycles" or something like that... Marlow should be cool.

Not to be argumentative, but I think that there are still a ton of positive things happening, despite low oil prices. I am hoping Capital Tower gets built still. 6 Houston center & International Tower (1 Market Square) seem dead.

Air Liquide Center: 2-Office Buildings At 9811 Katy Fwy.
Avossos replied to ChannelTwoNews's topic in Katy and Points West
Memorial City area is not original, not architectually inspiring, and ugly. I greatly dislike these buildings. I want to see something with dark glass. blackish. Dallas has a new building just north of downtown (in uptown) of 75 with dark glass. has somecool architectual interest. I wish we had some like that.- 97 replies

question for construction gurus... Do they typically raise cranes (increase how tall they are) during the construction process? Or do they usually build them from the get go the size they need. Thanks in advance.

I get the feeling this wont start construction anytime soon... The only reason why I say that is all the oil price talk. BUTTT.... you never know. I would love to see this go up.

so many factors to really say. Crew has a lot to do with it, and garage built in / design / etc. I thought my residential project would break ground in Nov. 2013 and be done Feb 2014... It broke ground in May 2014 and will be done in Feb 2015...

Just drove by this. I am excited to see this happen. 1) nice density 2) getting people to the cool part of midtown 3) good design 4) the net effects to the area question: is there an office portion of this that is planned? If so, is it under construction, or a different phase?

The apartments may have recently been "renovated" which probably means change out some appliances / new carpet. In all honesty, there is plenty of life left in these apartments. However, I don't think Midway is in the business to buy apartment complexes to run them. I suspect they intend to demo / build as soon as they get everything in order. Evidence that the "renovation" means technically nothing? 1/6th the complex is already gone. Land is simply too valuable. ...Just my thoughts

The Menil Collection At 1533 Sul Ross St.
Avossos replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Going Up!
I thought I would start an official thread on this. It sounds like this will have good height to it. Swstig mentioned something near St. Thomas university. Could this be the project? Does anyone have more information on the exact location?- 420 replies
