  1. Because Criminal commit crimes then wait for the rail???..
  2. Let us count the screw ups ..The over/under pass mess on the East line ...The rail car delivery mess ...multiple design flaws that were not found till well in the project
  3. THIS IS THE KIND OF CRAP THAT GIVE FUEL TO THE ANTI RAIL FOLKS..YET ANOTHER THING THEY CAN POINT AT AND SAY SEE(WASTES)...WHO WANTS TO BET 50 BUCKS COULSON WILL BRING THIS UP AT HIS 22 SEP TOWN HALL..IF ASKED ABOUT RAIL(..HELL HE WOULD,NT Even HAVE TO BE ASKED SINCE THE MEETING WILL DEAL WITH SPENDING AND WASTE. I USE TO BE A PARKER SUPPORTER BUT SHE HAS BECOME A LAME DUCK MAYOR ALL SHE DOES IS MEETING AND RIBBON CUTTING..IN The BIGINING HEADS WOULD BE ROLLING AT METRO
  4. sorry man but I think can Houston is dead..they have already fired 75 of their 115 man staff and the rest have had their contact picked up by root...
  5. like what dude..So far midway has brought a software company and a up scale salad bar...not exactly the fashion or entertainment nexus this place was supposed to be when it was proposed...right now midway seems more concerned with filling space not with what in that space
  6. Wasn't it like a month between the announced sky House river oaks and. Breaking grown?
  7. Thought it said similar acre to Discover green but I will also double check
  8. I Am familiar with the city south section plan from the report if memory serves they identify three areas for another discovery sized park....I would rather it be something different a sculpture garden type or a small botanical..not discovery green 2
  9. They should not focus so hard on Big Box just yet..Downtown is a weak shopping market...I still believe their best bet right now is to focus on small scale shops and try and line the street with those..example: The shoe store Tipping Point (that use to be on main, Those mobile clothing stores that park outside green street...places like that can build a niche customer base Downtown first...people like urban izzy that sells hard to find vintage clothing( although she partner with the other two mobile clothing owner and now rents a space in city centre.
  10. You can't kick them out of public places..but it is against cities rules to sleep on public property (That on the city for not enforce the rules. You will have a hundred cops in the day time but it will be a ghost town for cops at night..
  11. I Agree that residential is a must for downtown, not just for a sense of aliveness but for the music bar scene as well..A bar owner being interviewed by the chronicle a few months back made a great point of saying 70% of most bars and restaurants business are from local business people who live in that neighborhood.. So if the new bars and venues are to survive it will hinge on a larger downtown population..people that can sustain them long after the hispters have found a new hot spot.
  12. I have always felt main st leads itself to towers and offices, as well as high rises.. Once you get of main , then you can scale down
  13. Skyhouse twin towers will be a great addition or even a sky house further down main would work equal as well
  14. So on one had you say nice hard working and then on another you imply they might do something to your daughter?
  15. It would make more sense to get the tower out of the way before leasing the other part to avoid subject residents to two years of construction
  16. I agree with you last statement whole heartedly..Which is why I when we won the Superbowl in 2017..and they said DG would be a main component..I started thinking about the 100,000 plus people that are supposed to full DT a day..if you have ever attended a New Year Event at DG you know How pack it can get with people force to walk in the streets just to move around and those events only drew 20,000-30,000
  17. Green Street ( the Lawn ) is suppose to be a concert/green space.Hopefully it can help to shift some of the weight off of DG at least a little.Plus city analysis have concluded that DT has enough space for at least one more DG scale park. Most believe it will be on the south side ( given all the residential proposed) but actually the city has identified 3 possible locations according to south downtown analysis report released a few days ago.
  18. I like the plans for the east it is a chance for Houston to do something similar to the river walk but on a much larger scale. If Houston want to be taken serious as a international city we will need to think like one.By that I mean we can not continue to neglect our core and expect people to be impressions when they visit Houston.Houston is a great city that suffering outdated views from people who last visit was like a decade ago..
  19. Do they do residential or could we be looking at a potential office?
  20. I have always thought that the main street corridor leads itself to a mix of office, residential and entertainment structure.. As for gfr given it location to HCC a decent place to eat for worker/students /and staff could go over big there.
  21. That is not unusual in Houston..how many projects did not start till months after they were supposed to?
  22. If you look at it nimby have actually lost more battle in Houston than they have won it far less urban areas.
  23. I think the only way you are going to get greyhound to move is to revive the unified transit hub plan..maybe if the proposed Dallas to Houston plans which would give the city something to build around
