Buffalo Bayou Master Plan

No lie I could see myself jumping into lost lake after a long ride.

On the bayou side of the water works, I am trying to piece it together in my head, but it almost looks like there will be water features that you can walk in/through. It's hard to tell though.

Next time I ride that way on my bike, I'll try to remember to stop and take a snap of it from the bayou looking at the water works, and from the water works looking at the bayou.

Usually riding in buffalo bayou park I always end up more frustrated with the inconsiderate people who block the paths by walking 2 or 3 abreast, or completely stopped and chatting in the middle of the paths. I had to stop to pass someone who was just standing in the middle of the path yesterday. I asked them if they could stand in the grass to chat and they looked at me as if my hair were on fire.

Anyway, no matter, it will be great once all this stuff is finished, and the rebuild of Allen Parkway too. That will be awesome, and there will be even more people using these facilities. Which is great for our city.

beautiful pic Nole23!

I agree. Think about it; many, many parts of our fair city are just pretty. The heat and humidity may be a burden  a few months of the year but the foliage is lush and there are features like the bayous that can be very attractive when we but the effort into maintaining them properly. This park is an excellent case in point.

Tinypic.com will host for free, just upload and after you usually enter a robot preventative advertisement, it will allow you to copy and paste. I forget the correct code but it should start with [HMLT]something something[/HMwhatever].

Just paste when typing in the forum, and there it is.

Select the "more reply options" button when posting a message...you can then upload the pic from your PC

I get this insanely small upload size limit of like 2.14kb, anyone else have that problem? It seems to get smaller and smaller.

Yep - you have a space limit for uploading images....I ran in to it constantly so I went to using Imgur.  You can upload to their site and then they supply a link that you copy and paste here to insert pics -

You build a park with the river you have, not the river you might wish you had. Buffalo Bayou is a bayou. It is slow-moving and muddy. I will never be blue. If something were done to turn it blue, it would no longer be Buffalo Bayou; it would be some twisted abomination playacting at something it never was.

Thats why we have lazy river water attractions. So people who like to float or swim in blue water can pretend their floating down that mountain stream with limestone banks. None of the rivers that flow through the eastern half of Texas are blue. They all have muddy

bottoms and no rocks to filter the sediments. You're just going to have to live with it the way it is. Its a bayou.

Don't forget the "Crystal Lagoons" at least 5 developers around Houston are looking into building.

"We currently have five projects in negotiation in the Houston market. They are in several submarkets and the clients are not yet ready to announce the projects," Man said. "We always keep our clients info confidential until they are ready to announce."

Ongoing negotiations between two undisclosed Houston-area communities will hopefully yield the first local "crystal lagoon" by 2016
