kbates2
Nancy mentioned that this should be the tallest residential tower in Houston. This may have been based solely off of the # of stories, but I suspect she got that tidbit from the developer. 502 feet? Either way, 500 feet will LOOK much taller in this location than 1PP does. kbates2
The Huntington is 503 feet. Guess we are up to 504 then.
KinkaidAlum
I doubt she is talking about anything other than floor count and I am not sure that is even correct. Don't the Four Leaf Towers have 40 floors each?
Houston19514
Time to clarify. Here is what Nancy actually wrote:"At 40 stories, the building will be one of the tallest residential buildings around and perhaps the tallest rental tower in the city." kbates2
Rental tower. Stupid details.
lockmat
Also, "one of", not "the" tallest.
kbates2
One Park Place is a rental tower, so it still does sound like ~500 feet is a good estimate.
swtsig
pretty sure four leaf is 35 a pop but i could be wrong... in terms of floor count i do believe 2929 Weslayan will take claim to tallest.
Howard Huge
Four leafs 39-40th floors make up the penthouse units.
swtsig
well whaddya know... they are impressively tall, no doubt about that. i've always wondered if they ever contemplated making one massive 80 story tower as opposed to two 40 story ones. kdog08
Place will have a bunch of competition with the 552 apartments that will be built across the street. Culturemap:Fein will construct three projects with a total of 552 units on a 10-acre tract at West Alabama and Las Palmas. The aging Willowick Court Townhomes project is being torn down to yield the 10 acres. Fortune
Place will have a bunch of competition with the 552 apartments that will be built across the street. Culturemap:If the rents are comparable, then I don't see any competition. This unique tower will win out over the project that is going up across the street which is townhomes and 8 story apartment buildings that looks exactly like a bunch of other apartment buildings that are going up. Geoff8201
Drove by today... we have a giant hole... this is one I'll try to snap some shots of as it comes up since I'm not to far from it...
fatesdisastr
Took a quick snap as I was driving by but there is definitely a good amount of movement on site.

Fortune
Look for Hines to develop the super block just east of this project - surrounded by W Alabama/Westheimer and Buffalo Speedway/private street just east of St. Luke's Methodist Church.Looks like this isn't going to happen since St. John's school purchased the land.

ClutchCity
Have they started constructing the crane for this one?
SkylineView
No crane parts on site as of Friday... though they have brought in additional heavy equipment. If you drive by, you can see into the big hole on the west end of the site. I assume that's the core of the building, and it's a mass of steel and concrete.
DRUTH
I drove by today and it looks as if they are starting on the foundation. Wasn't able to take a picture, but it appears to be moving along nicely.
SkylineView
This thing has a $hit-ton of steel sticking out of the ground. It's standing about 6 feet high, on top of the 15 feet that goes down into the hole. Sorry for the quality, it was a shot-gun photo on my phone as I rocketed by.

Jax
I think I'll be able to see this one from my roof. Is it still going to be 40 stories? That's much taller than any residential building in the area, right?

That's much taller than any residential building in the area, right? Oh yeah. It's going to eclipse any other nearby residential by a mile. Jax
Wiki says the Huntingdon is 34 stories and is currently the tallest residential in town and it's just around the corner in River Oaks, so this will eclipse it by 6 stories and I am guessing it will be the tallest residential in town. EDIT: The latest info says this is only 35 stories. I've updated the thread title. So it will just be a single story taller than the Huntingdon. lockmat
I believe that is incorrect. The latest is 40 stories.http://m.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2012/11/09/pm-realty-adds-five-stories-to.html?r=full
wxman
Yes, it's freakin' 40-stories. Don't jack with the title. Please change it back. Thanks.
