DrLan34
Tapas restaurant Oporto plans to open a new second location at 125 West Gray early next year. IntheKnowHouston
According to job postings, a restaurant named Josephine's opening at Post Midtown Square. Josephine's taking over the unit occupied by Izakaya at 318 Gray St. Izakaya was a dining concept from the Azuma Group. I don't know when Izakaya closed. Below is more about Josephine's from hiring posts: Josephine's - A Gulf Coast Tradition is a new concept coming to Midtown this spring. We are offering a fun and exciting take on southern Gulf Coast fare, serving everything from oysters and po boys to steaks, stuffed flounder, and seafood towers. New Orleans southern hospitality will shine, while also incorporating the gulf coast warmth of life slowing down and the feeling of enjoying an evening with people you feel like you have known your entire life. We welcome quick lunches, long happy hours, and fancy dinners. The diversity from Texas all the way through Mississippi and down the Florida gulf coast will be on full display in everything from the bar program to the play list, but most importantly in the service. Josephine s will be an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and let southern hospitality take over a place to decompress and recharge. In response to my inquiry regarding Izakaya's possible impending closure, a representative didn't provide a direct answer. I was only told they're not closed. I don't think there is a 318 Gray St, Suite B or Suite 2 at Post Midtown Square. So, the ground floor unit Izakaya occupies has to be the location of Josephine's. Permits list Josephine's address as 318 Gray St and not 318 W Gray St. Also, older permits in the city's database related to Izakaya now list Josephine's. I doubt Azuma Group is rebranding Izakaya to a Gulf Coast restaurant. All of their dining concepts are Japanese restaurants.
