Am I the only one trying to figure out where a drive-thru goes on this building?

These are both old Google Maps street view pics but next time I ride by I'll take some newer shots. There is what could be a drive thru off Emancipation or maybe this on St Charles. The St Charles appears to be more of a loading dock door though.

They’ve opened up most of the interior, and from what I recall from the site plan, will be incorporating driveways and parking within part of the first floor of the building.

There is a new curb cutout/driveway and opening on the wall on the Emancipation side that aligns with where the door is on the St. Charles side that @hindeskyshared from Google Street View.

the facade when viewed from Leeland looks quite ok, but when you look at the 'back side'. woof.

this building is pretty unique in Houston, whenever a new building goes up in Houston someone says it was a missed opportunity for mixed use, and well, here's what is clearly a residential on top of first floor retail.

we don't need to build that urban density in the East End, it's already well established!

Poor maintenance of attached second gallery porches? It's not great, but it's not exactly shocking. It's also not a big deal from a renovation/rehabilitation perspective.

I really want to see this renovated in the near future. Would make for a cool bar or restaurant.

It’s right near the top of my list in terms of buildings in that immediate area I’d like to see rehabilitated, along with the old Saragusa grocery store over on Canal near St. Charles.

I think the mixed use development going up now will help kickstart some more development in the area. this will probably be one of the things that gets gobbled in that process.

hopefully for the fans of Brother's Taco, that one doesn't get gobbled too.

for me, one of the buildings I'd like to see redeveloped, and if I win the lottery, it will be on my list of things to do, the one time home of the Axiom, at McKinney and Live Oak. something about that building just speaks to me every time I drive by it, I want to see something good happen with it.

Yup that’s another one on my list too. I’ll let you know if I win the lottery instead, and we can spearhead these efforts together. lol

Something about the windows at this building seems to be plaguing them. I can't tell you how many times I've seen windows installed, uninstalled, changed, boarded up, changed again, replaced with grating. They're out there working on them again today.

They were still working on the windows this morning. Still moving at a snails pace. The Tower next to the Hess building is going to be done before this and it started years earlier.

I think at one time the Axiom used to be a Askew's Drug store and the upstairs was a hotel. It later became a brothel then a liquor warehouse. I used to go to Axiom when it was open. Some up and coming bands played there including some band named Nirvana, Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo, Social Distortion and many others.
