    i believe house of blues is opening the 18th. they are having some kind of opening party cause of friend of mine is proud of his tickets.

    sounds like UTMB is trying to downsize as a result of ike and proposed a 4000 employee layoff. of course, the Mayor stepped in and started making phone calls to state legislators who are promising to step in. full article

    if it were that easy, there would be tenants. there's quite a bit of space in the area that is available already.

    people are definitely buying...esp forclosed properties. did some work for a broker over the ike days off and sales were going just fine. one that i was interested sold for 72k and the house was pretty well maintained.

    that heb is where my parents go. there's also a kroger's on the beltway which is probably about the same distance as the pearland one.

    i believe those are for car accidents that happen and the wrecked cars/police move there so as not to interfere with traffic

    party city and shoe carnival are the ones being built now....supposedly next to that will be staples and palais royal. the heb has pretty much been madness since the hurricane. i've only purchased a gallon of milk and some oj since the storm and said i'll wait til crowds go down. was going to clear lake one after work today (thought it would be better) and crowds were just as ridiculous.

    If some of the work being done on the east side is any indication, i'd say more ROW is needed. parking on washington would definitely be history.

    we were talking about doing a post ike one.....i'm game most of the time. red, crunch, tmariar, sev, etc i'm sure will attend. maybe you can bring the party decorations.

    biden seems to be reacting more than attacking. the loud sigh by biden a few moments ago isn't a sign of someone in charge.
