  1. and more here: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Houston-s-apartment-boom-focuses-on-urban-scene-4619878.php i think i mentioned it before but Hines is very actively looking for core multifamily sites, here and elsewhere. hopefully we get some distinctive architecture out of it. btw expect the final design of the cafe adobe site to be a value-engineered version of the original rendering.
  2. technically those are highrises and tenchnically williams, POC, and 4 oaks all fall under suburban office towers... i don't think any of them are boring. you can say the same about BMC's campus right next door to phillips' as well.
  3. thanks. really looking forward to seeing this part of downtown come to life in the next 5 years or so.
  4. rumor has it that they are (or at least were) looking at adding a hotel-component. no idea where it would go.
  5. Hines is very actively pursuing a few sites for residential high rises inside the loop so this is not surprising. btw - that's a helluva a teardown.
  6. honestly i'm not sure what's on the site right now. i've heard the same about an energy company buying up a piece of land there as well as another group - supposedly a couple office projects in the work but i have no clue as to their probability other than my aforementioned one. it's not a bad looking building... nothing extravegant but should be realtively well received.
  7. really like this desgin... relatively simple but well positioned and distinctive.
  8. Haha that is literally the most "Dallas" story one could imagine. Pension fund for public services dabbles in speculative ultra-luxurious residential CRE and opts to install the most reflective glass possible to increase its "flash" yet clearly ignores proper due diligence. I mean seriously.
  9. 10 story, 240k sf - expect construction to begin later this summer. Leased to a single tenant. Not sure what this means for 6 Chasewood.
  10. it's 20+ stories - not entirely blah. there's a few more kicking around that immediate area as well supposedly.
  11. speaking of waugh & washington, expect an announcement on a new office project breaking ground later this year.
  12. not quite sure i understand the houston-homers who find this tower "so ugly"... it's a relatively safe yet sleek looking glass tower. in fact had this tower gone up in houston i'd be willing to bet it would receive applause from the same folks. i know i would appreciate it. not to take away from the fact that the glass they used is an absolute unmitigated disaster, of course.
  13. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2013/06/exclusive-even-more-luxury-living-for.html Inter-Pier LLC’s plans for the structure, to be named Belfiore and located on Post Oak Lane, between San Felipe and Woodway, show it will stand 26 stories with only two homes per floor, totaling 44 residences and two penthouses. actually got the (late) scoop on this Monday - supposedly several units are already presold. corner of s. post oak and wynden, right down the street from the old masaraf's. man, is the galleria area booming right now or what? there's several other high rise projects in the works scattered all about uptown/galleria. i bet the tanglewood nimby's are fuming right now! /sarcasm
  14. Brookfield still owns the land so odds are they will build eventually - just needs a lead tenant. Never know when that may come along.
  15. This is almost certainly what will happen which is incredibly frustrating but entirely predictable.
  16. it was conoco taking ECIII and ECIV (or half of ECIV). metronational has additional plans for another mixed use tower near the nexen/murphy/cobalt buildings.
