  1. Next time I go to Dekker's or Wagin Tails I'll have to check it out. That area is booming.
  2. It's funny. The first post in this thread goes back to November 2007 and they complain about Houston's antiquated traffic control signals. Almost seven years later I haven't seen any improvement in that area. Still way to many little used side streets crossing major streets with traffic lights that change regardless if there's any traffic.
  3. They won't be doing nothing until they figure out what to do with the parking situation this building will compromise. The new Continuing Education building and Tennis courts have already depleted insufficient area parking.
  4. True. He also showed up at Rice University in the middle of the night.
  5. Sadly the Fiesta store was no different then the Gerlands store it replaced and even it couldn't survive. (I heard the Strip Center management increased the rent so high Gerlands had to close). Perhaps an HEB pantry could occupy the the space. It wouldn't be very profitable but they are a big enough organization they could absorb the costs. Will be interesting to see what occupy s the space.
  6. I was in the Village for lunch and saw ashes coming down from this fire. HFD did a good job of keeping the fire from spreading to other structures.
  7. Quite a burner. Spread really fast. They must not have had any sheetrock up yet.
  8. There's a Penny's Diner in Hearne, Tx on Hwy 6 that I sometimes stop at on the way to FW. They make a mean patty melt. i didn't realize they were a chain.
  9. I'm a little confused at the location they are showing. There are already high priced 3 story town-homes on that site and more going up at the end of Lake Point Parkway.
  10. Can't offer much input about the area but I will say I drove through downtown Bryan a few weeks ago returning from Fort worth and was surprised at what I saw. The last time I ventured through there was almost 20 years ago and it was pretty horrifying but it's really nice now. Have good friends in CS and we are planning on coming up and spending a weekend browsing around downtown Bryan. (After the polar vortex ends.)
  11. Also Dallas has to compete with Fort Worth which has a way cooler downtown.
  12. They are a fun and exciting team to watch To bad I have satellite and only see a small number of their games.
  13. Is that the place they have been working on right next to Whataburger?
  14. I wonder if this includes the overpass at (crossing over) the West Park Tollway. Always a bottleneck.
  15. I'd love to get some mementos of the place like a wall lamp or something. Lot's of memories of the place.
  16. Told my boss there was ice on the road in Sugar Land.
  17. Long time coming. http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Mexican-man-executed-for-officer-s-death-5166547.php?cmpid=hpfc Sorry. It's kind of personal. No way it should have taken this long.
  18. Hopefully their insurance premium will go high enough to keep them off the streets.
  19. The 2015 F-150 has a body built almost entirely out of aluminum. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/aluminum-revolution-ford-introduces-f-050747173.html
  20. Narrower and thinner. Yet subscription prices keep going up. I like reading it on line when I'm away but still prefer the real thing with my morning coffee.
  21. Both have been terrible. Unless you like hearing the same songs played over and over and over and over.
  22. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Stafford is really an awesome place. http://houston.baps.org/
