  1. The word "pulls" scared tf out of me, I thought they were stopping the project all together. Thanks for the clarification though.
  2. I think this might be the opposite of what i'm thinking is happening. This might be a good thing? I mean it looks like construction is still ongoing, but what do they mean by pulling the permit though?
  3. Source: https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/office/yet-another-iconic-downtown-tower-is-getting-a-new-look-101024 Rendering: Looks like we got another one 🥳
  4. Any updates on the market? Can't find anything myself, for some reason http://www.downtowndistrict.org/ hasn't updated their reports since June. Hopefully a 3Q report will be out soon.
  5. As HEB marches its way towards Downtown, it stops at 100 Waugh. Encompassing a great urban grocer concept, and a key location inside inner loop Houston. I would say this development might foreshadow what an HEB in Downtown is going to look like, well at-least the apartments on top of a grocery store concept. Feel like HEB might be planning something in the core 🤔
  6. Those are some awfully expensive buildings you got there, especially that inpatient bed tower at 600 mil
  7. While Houston might not be as depended on oil as it use to be, it's still a big chunk of the local economy. I could see this spur development that was cancelled after the 2014 boom, also is might bring in a new wave of development on top of the giant wave we're going through right now. All in all higher oil prices will bring in more developments than lower price. Hell we might get that chevron tower we're waiting for.
  8. You know since Marquette is starting a few projects in EaDo, I wonder if they're going to start this block anytime soon? Since the Downtown apartment market has shown a good amount of demand, I'm sure this building would do well. I'm just wondering why they haven't started yet?
  9. That might be it, from the look of some of the "newer" renderings they did show some parking. IDK if that's going to be in the final plan, but looking at the skyrise cities rendering I'm seeing no parking at all. This might just be completely residential/hotel. Considering that COH expanded market based parking to midtown I could see phase 2 of this development not have any parking.
  10. Yeah the Filing said up to a maximum of 53 stories. Doesn't mean all the towers are going to be 53 stories though, some might be in the 40 story range, and another might be in the 50 story range. We'll have to see when the complete news comes out. Considering the filing said 570' and 600' I suspect it will be around that 47-53 story range.
  11. So I was looking at a good amount of the proposed/under construction projects, and something caught my eye. That is the astounding amount of tall buildings going up. Here's a list of 150+m under construction/Proposed (some of these are just eye test) 1. Texas Tower: 735' 2. The Preston: 549' 3-5?. Laneways: 570'-600' (there may be even more towers) 6. 7200 main Tower 1: looks to be in the 800' range, but might be shorter/taller 7. The Allen condo tower: looks to be in the 500' range, but there's the chance it might be taller. 8. Innovation Tower: From the looks of it, it might be in the 700' range considering the height of Latitude. 9. McNair tower: I'm feeling 600' range, but it might be even taller. From what it looks like there's potentially 9 150m+ tower proposed/under construction. It might be even more considering the laneway developer, and some other developments I might of missed.
  12. Alright so about 4 days ago I was driving from UH to drop off some friends after a party (designated driver), and at 1am I decided to go through downtown just to see what's going on. And let me tell you something, if the main corridor wasn't packed to the brim. I swear the blocks with the historic buildings had at least 2000+ people alone, there were just so many people walking around. For 1am downtown seemed pretty lively (except around Louisiana street), especially around the bars, parks, and food places. Hopefully this is a sign that downtown is becoming a 24/7 neighborhood.
  13. I can feel it connecting. Photo taken from park and ride bus, on the I-10 HOV lane.
  14. Found 3 cases on this project, might be the 2nd tower!?!? Looks like it's the fenced lot next to the current building. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=415065717&row=0 Case 1: Structure Height: 264' Structure Type: Building Structure Name: Camden Conte https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=415065240&row=19 https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=415064989&row=4 Case 2 & 3: Structure Height: 244' Structure type: Building Structure Name: Camden Conte There'll probably be further details in the near future, considering this is a work in progress case.
  15. Lots of things happening Around UH-Katy. Also looks like they're calling this whole area University Center. Main Building: Sign next to entrance (identical sign on the other side of road) with name of area. Some construction happening around University Center, couldn't get the structure (Almost completed), looks like the cops were getting suspicious of me. There were also a few other structures going up around it, most of them pretty far into development. This is on the land, east of the main building. Looks like UH plans to build out the whole area in the near future. The development is looking great so far, wanna see what they have planned in the future though.
  16. Struggled to find the thread for this one, but here it is. Structure Height: 286' Work Schedule: 10/31/2019 - 10/31/2021 Structure Name: 2020 Westcreek Multifamily High-Rise https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=414592071&row=9 Good infill for Uptown, hopefully we can get a render some time soon.
  17. https://www.khou.com/article/news/education/university-of-houston-unveils-first-look-at-new-college-of-medicine/285-bbdd594d-0b93-42dd-850b-3e6ff14d0bc8 UH has released new renderings of the upcoming medical school. It will be a 4 story, 150k square foot medical building ($80 million). They plan to start construction next year, and complete it by summer of 2022. Exterior: Interior: (There's a couple more renderings on the website)
  18. Definitely going to be a nice canopy over the sidewalks; when those trees are fully grown.
  19. Alright boys, lets buy this up and make our very own HAIF Trophy tower. Topping off at astounding 1836', with every thing a mixed used tower would need.
  20. Anybody know when the pierce section might start, or when the downtown sections are going to kick off in general?
  21. I'm assuming the residential portion is going to be around 30-32 stories (if they're split among the 2 blocks, and going off drewery place square footage), while the office portion might be in the 25-30 story range? Also, that's a pretty sizeable amount of retail, so it might take up add a couple floors to the development. I don't know what I'm talking about, so this is just pure speculation. Anyway, Midtown just keep getting better, and better. Hope this comes to fruition, it would add so much more to the neighborhood.
  22. *Cries in Bank of Southwest tower*. I mean you could say the old BOA tower is pretty signature, but it does lack the height when in comparison to the skyline. Maybe even Wells Fargo Plaza? It definitely has a good amount of height, but it does lack something.
